Safe Harbor
Safe Harbor is a satellite settlement nestled into geostationary orbit over Barrakesh , Vassagonia .
The land mass and many of the buildings of Safe Harbor originally constituted the University of Vassagonia . There were learned individuals from all over Magnamund that taught there and it was a center of learning for many subjects. It was an island across the harbor from Barrakesh and was originally reached via a series of ferrys towed by a pair of marids.
But, unknown to all, the site and original construction by the Black Zakhan was designed to expand upon his conquests and extend the reach of Vassagonia into Wildspace. The power and control gemstones for this purpose was lost when the Black Zakhan was overthrown. During the events of Establishment of Safe Harbor the island rose into the sky and assumed orbit.
Safe Harbor is now a thriving community of a few hundred souls hailing from Sommerlund, Durenor, and Vassagonia. Locals here take great pride in being the cooperative product of past warring nations and do their best to ignore or downplay and political troubles that may occur groundside. They serve as a base of operations for the small spelljamming fleet that guards against extraterrestrial threats.
The existence of Safe Harbor is not known to the general populace of Magnamund.
