Protos (Pro-toss)
The Primal Chaos
The goddess of primal chaos and entropy and one of the 7 Supremes, Protos is among the oldest creatures in the universe. Simply by existing, she causes massive outbursts of chaotic energies. She and Thanaloc, the god of law, are constantly locked in a struggle for dominance, with Thanaloc constantly trying to imprison Protos and shape her into his cosmic order.
Divine Domains
Protos holds dominon over the forces of primal chaos and entropy, and is thus one of the strongest creatures in existence. Her clerics gain access to the Chaos, Liberation, Magic, Ruins, and Strength domains, as well as the Divine, Entropy, Ferocity, Freedom, and Protean domains.
Artifacts
The most well known artifact of Protos is known as the Chaos Star, which is said to be a massive gemstone formed at her core that can randomly duplicate the effects of other artifact-level items.
Holy Books & Codes
Due to her monstrous and wild nature, Protos has no set codes or holy writings; instead priest attempt to commune directly with her and tap into her chaotic energy through dangerous rituals.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Protos' holy symbol is a set of swirling stardust with a glowing light at the middle.
Tenets of Faith
Due to the chaotic and scattered nature of her faith followers of Protos have little in the way of formal worship or tenets, with the only set goals to spread chaos and tear down bastions of law. Her most extreme followers often follow a code that is often similar to the following:
- I will always let my spirit be free; I will not bend the knee to the rule of law.
- I will always fight against the forces who would keep the universe bound in untrue form. If such creatures cannot break free from the shackles of order I will ensure that they die in them.
- I will do what I think is best; Systems work to keep me from my true potential, and I will not abide by them.
- I will not restrain myself to one way or plan. No plan ever works the way it is intended, and to be unable to adapt leads only to an early death.
- I will be in the here and now. All is set to fall to dust, and thus there is no reason to worry about the future beyond my basic survival.
- No one knows what is best for me than myself. I will hear the opinions of others, but my choices are mine and mine alone.
Holidays
Due to the unordered nature of her followers and teachings, Protos' church has no official holidays. However, once a year, on a random day, Protos's light and form can be seen floating in space around the world. This day is known as the Day of Vortex, and her followers are always on the lookout for telltale signs that always proceed her manifestation. On the day, chaotic magic is empowered; spells often go awry and law magic fails. The Entropics hold that she is giving her blessing to run wild, and thus will often celebrate; such celebrations range from rowdy parties to full scale riots and attacks on guardsmen.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Protos' overall goals beyond her eternal conflict with Thanaloc are unclear, as she rarely communicates in any regular frequency. Many believe that she has no overreaching plan, and is simply content to drift in the Great Beyond and allow the universe to slowly fade back into entropy.
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Both while in the Great Beyond and when manifesting in an avatar form, Protos takes the appearance of a massive storm of space dust and matter, as if she herself was a small galaxy. In legend, it is said that she manifested briefly in humanoid form when conceiving Cabmov and Asuren with Thanaloc. This shape was said to be a massive dark skinned lady with starlight skin and raging hair, but no mortal alive today has ever seen this form.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Protos was the second deity to emerge from Ygg, emerging just before Thanaloc, meaning that she is the 4th oldest being in the world. Her energy was essential to power the creation of the Realms, and it is said that a bit of her essence lays in every thing.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Protos was responsible for stirring up the empty void and utilizing her energy to power the beginnings of life itself.
Intellectual Characteristics
Most of the time, Protos seems to be barely even aware, often drifting through the great beyond like a massive storm, surrounded by her protean servitors and content to simply exist as a raging mass of energy. She never communes directly with other gods or even her followers, and is as likely to launch massive waves of energy as she is to show a vision of what a commune is attempting to see to her own followers as she is to a lawful god attempting to move through her path. This leads many tol speculate that Protos doesn't even have a mind at all, and is solely the manifestation of the pure chaos of the universe.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Protos is constantly surrounded by her divine servitors, the proteans, and the greatest among them considers him her herald. While they state that their true name is unpronnoucable to the mortal tongue and is constantly changing they often allow others to refer to them as Lexiryat. The six-armed serpentine creature is covered in chaotic sigils and constantly warping as it leads a host of proteans to follow in Protos' wake.
Protos is known to harbor an intense hatred for Chronu, the eldest Titan, due to his manipulation of the timeline and corruption of her daughter, Cabmov into a horrendous beast. Protos' magic always seems to be more potent when directed at followers of the Titan, signifying one of the few things that Protos seems to take note of in the material world.
The only constant other deity Protos seems to even acknowledge is Thanaloc, as the are constantly battling for control over the universal forces of the world. Rare glimpses into the tumultuous mind of Protos seems to indicate that she views Thanaloc as foolish creature, misguided into believing that he can ever conquer chaos and stave off entropy.

Quotes & Catchphrases
As Protos never seems to speak in a conventional way, her followers have few common aphorisms, but several hold strong:
All Will Be Dust: Said in reference to the inherent entropic nature of the universe, and that no matter how hard one tries, in the end all will return to Protos' primordial chaos. The phrase can be said both as a threat to an enemy and as an encouraging statement to embolden one to forget about something painful or to try something new
You Cannot Contain A Storm: Said often in response to guards or lawman, it is a declaration of ones desire to act without restrain, emulating a desire to be like Protos; a raging storm that cannot be contained.
