The Pale Wyrm

The Protector of Usoram

The Great Wyrm of Usoram, and the first Wyrm to die in the Age of Conflict. Her corpse would later become aptly named The First, and spawn the first of mortal dragonkind.

Divine Domains

Like all the great Wyrms, the Plae Wyrms influence is greatly reduced since its disappearance in the Age of Conflict. It is associated with the Dream, Edict, and Solar dragons, and is though to be representative of the dragons grace and beauty. It grants its clerics access to the Scalykind and Sun domains, and the Day and Dragon subdomains.

Artifacts

Like all dragon-kind, the Pale Wyrm's bones are said to hold great power. As its body is the most directly seen in the world, many would be fortune seekers, especially ambitious dwarves of the neighboring Ironclade nation, constantly travel to its decaying corpse. Unfortunately for them, the corpse is home to the highest concentration of dragon and wyerm nests, none of which are keen to allow any trespass. Additionally, the rotting flesh of the divine carries with it a potent disease that afflicts all non-draconic creatures. Known as Dragonrot, it quickly melts flesh off of bone and is highly contagious.   An additional treasure is said to be hidden away somewhere inside the corpse, an Ember of the First Flame, a fragment of the first fire of the world, said to grant great elemental power to those who can harness it.

Holy Books & Codes

Like all Great Wyrms, the Pale left no holy books or writings of any kind, leaving its draconic offspring to interpret its wishes purely through ancestral instincts. However, those that dwell in the First have a bit more of a stronger connect than other sects of Wyrm Worship, as they are able to more directly tap into the Pale's corpse to gain greater insights.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Like all of the Great Wyrms, the Pales symbol is a curled up dragon, although its sigil is usally depicted glowing with light or left uncolored to signify its paler status.

Tenets of Faith

As a dead deity, there are few enforced tenants of its faith. Its major goal was the protection of the Central Realm, but with its death at the wings of the Enthosian Elder Fien, many of its followers have taken to fighting a holy crusade against Fien's followers, and are hoping to find a way to prevent Fiens potential to ascend to true divinity.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The Pale Wyrms main goal was the protection of Usoram, the Realm of Light, but many scholars have postulated that she was never fully satisfied with that role. They point to the role in the creation of the Edaan and her feud with Fien as signs of a greater ambition. Some even say that the Pale Wyrm is not fully deceased, pointing to the fact that its flesh still rots, while the other Wyrms have long be reduced to bones, and may even have its own planes to return to a form of life some day.

Personal history

The Pale Wyrm was one the younger side of its Wyrm siblings, emerging alongside The Dark Wyrm, after the elemental Wyrms but before the Celestial and Infernal Wyrms. The Pale Wyrm was crucial in the creation of the Edaan, the primal creation which would eventually in turn lead to the creation of Humanity ity. The Pale Wyrm would eventually fight in the Age of Conflict, helping to protect Usoram against the Titans and the Dark Tapestry. However, after the introduction of Enthosian magic, Thanaloc imbued some of Aurë's light with this new magic, creating Fien, the first of the Brightlings, who took refuge in the light of Usoram. Accounts vary wildly about how the conflilct grew between them, but eventually the Pale Wyrm attempted to drive Fien out of Usoram, and against all odds, the demigod slew the Wyrm, before falling into a great slumber that they have yet to awaken from. The Pale Wyrms corpse crashed into a focal point between Usoram, Ixuil, Kirru, and Central, creating the area that would become known as the First. This act off god-on-god violence kicked off another conflict between the gods, and seemed to allow for the beginnings of Cabmovs rampage, who would go on to slay many of the gods, including at least one other Great Wyrm, The Infernal Wyrm.
