Yama-cho

Yama-cho is a regionally significant pilgrimage site of the Way in Hokutani. It is part of the lordship of Kamuishi.  

Geography

Yama-cho is a site featuring carved cliff faces symbolizing the syncretic nature of the Way, with depictions of Ascan and Elven gods.  

History

Legends tell of a group of ascetics who were trapped in Yama-chou in the mountains and besieged by Prijkan raiders. The monks eventually self-immolated rather than be starved out.
