The Shou Empire is considered by many to be the most powerful nation-state in the world, and is the home of the Shou people and language. Controlled by the The Five Dynasties, the Empire is currently ruled by the Anzai-Fujiwara Alliance, which has ruled and consolidated power for the last 200~ years.
Shou people generally follow The Way: a philosophical and religious tradition emphasizing the mundane divinity of spontaneity, compassion, frugality, and humility, without worship of any particular god. Slavery is completely outlawed.
