Trobridge Inn

Trade outpost and hangout for outlaws.

Some of the inspiration and details are derived from Colombia Games

A fortified and well-garrisoned Inn owned and operated by the Mercantylers’ Guild at a bridge crossing over the Farin River. Terlin Wesindana operates the Inn, a traditional Salt Route caravans layover.

The village and fortified manor around the Inn are mostly controlled by the former warlord Sir Kurson Ondailis. This ambitious brigand was granted a knighthood when Trobridge officially became an outpost of the Kingdom of Kaldor patrolled by guards and knights of the Sheriff of Semethshire. The Sheriff, and now King of Kaldor, Sir Conwan Elendsa, is rumored to despise Sir Kurson.

Kurson Ondailis, Terlin Wesindana, and the representatives of the Sheriff of Semethshire are engaged in an ongoing power struggle over who has the true power in the settlement.

The village is a rendezvous for outlaws and riffraff from all over Hârn. Elven merchants from the Kingdom of Evael sometimes come to Trobridge to trade, and in spring, the fields surrounding Trobridge host the entire Chelni tribal nation with their great annual gather. The Chelni could destroy the Inn at any time but prefer to use it as a trading post where civilized goods can be obtained. However, they view the growing Kaldorian presence with suspicion.

Defenses

Manor

It has 10ft high walls and is well patrolled. Sir Kurson has at least twenty retainers, many of whom are former bandits and numerous armed family members.

Toll House

The Sheriff of Semethshire has stationed ten guards at the toll houses.

Inn

It has two moats and is well-fortified. Innkeeper Wesindana has a garrison of almost two dozen guards, mostly to defend against Kurson's thugs.

Infrastructure

The Bridge

Repairs from the 717TR River flood have been completed. Sir Kurson Ondalis and the crown paid for the repairs.

The New Toll House

The old toll house was in poor repair. The Sheriff of Semethshire recently had it repaired and boarded up the access point to a series of Lothrim era underground passages, much to the relief of the locals.

Trobridge Inn

A highly fortified trading post owned by the Mercantylers’ Guild and operated by Terlin Wesindan, it has high prices and is well guarded.

Ondalis Manorhouse

Sir Kurson's family and retainers are based here.

Chapel to Peoni

The chapel is supported by donations from villagers and travelers and is attended to by Darwyn Aphas, a somewhat timid Priest.

Glassworker

Lysa Amael trades gems, silver, and gold for Elven products, usually Glassware. Her shop is built like a fortress and well guarded.

Temple to Sarajin (Clan Maael)

A highly successful temple, the Maaels are often out preaching among the Chelni and have succeeded in covering at least 20% of them to this new religion.

The Severed Hand Tavern

The tavern will accept no overnight guests unless Trobridge Inn is fully occupied.

The settlement also contains a Hideworker, Clothier, Physician, Tentmaker, Woodcrafter, Brothel, Apothecary, Miller, and Smithy.

Timber Wright

Faram Milwork has become wealthy by supplying wood for the bridge, toll house, and new building in the settlement. The nature loving Chelni are starting to look at him with suspicion.

Physician

Hadael Kardy, is a remarkably skilled Physician from Melderyn. Some say he dabbles in magic.

History

The settlement was originally named name Tollbridge, dating back to Lothrim the Foulspawner's, who had the original bridge constructed. It was renamed Troll’s Bridge, as legends say after Lothrim's demise a troll stalked travelers on the bridge. It lived in a hidden cave system nearby. Some say this cave system hides many dark magical secrets and is best avoided.

646TR - The Inn was built by the Mercantylers’ Guild and operated by a master innkeeper who splits his profits with the Mercantylers’ Guild.

696TR - Branger Ondailis, a Bandit Lord, "captures" Trobridge. He rules for 17 years before being murdered by his wife and son. His son Kurson seizes power.

721TR - Kurson Ondailis offers the Kingdom of Kaldor his fief in return for a Knighthood and concessions.

722TR - The Kingdom of Kaldor, to better provide additional security for merchants along the Salt Route, makes Kurson a knight and settlement officially become part of Kaldor. The Chelni Barbarians find this amusing.
