Quivering Quaver
Plenty of people in Mythrite have no clue what a quaver is. Some cannot pronounce it. One of the old wealthy denizens of Charlemaine Hill had decided that Mythrite simply wouldn't do without a place for people to practice instruments and enjoy the spirit of music, himself included. The man went by Riverbell, and his first, second, and third passions were all music. Different musicians fascinated him, musicians whose glowing spirits could not be found in nobles alone. Though Riverbell had died later on, the Quivering Quaver is still run and kept with the various musicians of all skill levels in Mythrite. Lyres, harps, horns, guitars, cellos and basses are all available to borrow and play on in the establishment. Even a couple of upright pianos had been constructed at the owner's demand, pianos that would see use from many different hands.
The Quivering Quaver consists of many empty rooms for people to practice in alone, and two instrument storage rooms for those who would like to borrow and practice on them. One upright piano was placed in one of the practice rooms, while the other was in the public performance room, where musicians could play for others as they pleased, and anyone else could join. Riverbell had donated many instruments for public, along with many of the dead. Some of the personal instruments of those who died in Mythrite would find their way to the Quivering Quaver, cleaned and ready for others' use. Town Guards were often called to protect this place and prevent its instruments from thievery.
However, Riverbell's funds would not last forever. Much of his money had gone into the Quivering Quaver and keeping it accessible to all. Now that he's gone, it's only a matter of time before those funds run out. Only a few of the town guard choose to protect this place any longer without payment. How long can the Quivering Quaver survive in Mythrite? How long until someone new steps up, and chooses to own the building and bear its burdens? Will this remain a free haven for Mythrite's musicians? Or will it eventually fall, and snuff out one of the joys in Mythrite?
