Ring of Ambition

On the south side of the entertainment district, in a small plot that goes overlooked by the city guards, lies this rugged cobblestone building with no windows. Beneath the building is one of the most popular fighting arenas in Mythril. The first floor serves as a modest living space for the owner of the establishment, separated from the front entrance and foyer of the building with a heavily fortified wall. The foyer is small and contains only two doors. One leading to the house itself, and the other containing a staircase leading down to the basement of the house, which contains the fighting ring. The ring consists of a dirt floor pit surrounded by elevated spectator areas on stone walls. On one side of the pit is a gate, walling off the pit from a storage area for contenders to wait in. This arena only being able to come to fruition due to the existing cave system that lies underneath, providing a tall, wide, cavern for the establishment. A few small tunnels branch off on all sides, and any paths leading out to the public have been blocked off for security purposes.   This ring has served the rich of Mythrite by allowing them to watch and bet on the lower-class citizens of the city as they brawl in a variety of different styles of battle. From fistfights to sword battles, to testing strength versus any creature that can be subdued enough to be placed in the ring, this is Mythrite’s prime fighting arena.   A small bar area has been built into a corner of the cavern, providing spectators with a variety of wine and mead, most of which is brewed in-house using a small brewery set up in one of the smaller caverns that branches off from the main one. These drinks are only served inside of the ring and are not distributed to any other tavern in Mythrite, so attention from the government stays away, and the paying customers stay close, as the brew made there is said to be some of the best in the city.
