The Emerald Amphitheater

The Emerald Amphitheater is a giant light green stone stage with seating all around it in a bowl shape. where most of Mythrites plays are performed. It is constantly oscillating between having the rich and the poor in it. It has entrances all around it. When a formal performance is going on, the wealthy pay to get in and watch the show while all the poor are escorted out by guards. When the show is over, freelance performers and preachers looking for a large audience rush to the stage to have a good place to perform. The poorer population that can not afford the formal plays will come back in to eat outside or watch the freelance performers, occasionally throwing them a coin. The times for shows are posted just outside the doors and at the Mythrite Crier. They include plays, musicals, and political speeches.   When the Theater was first opened, it only allowed entrance through payment. However, the large size made it difficult to guard every entrance in. After a bit of discussion among the security of mythrite it was determined the guards efforts were better suited elsewhere. Declaring that the payment was for the show, not the access to the land, The Emerald Amphitheater is now only guarded when a show is going on, the rest of the time it is open to the public. Since it is not guarded most of the time, things often go missing here. There are plenty of inexperienced pickpockets at work with the distraction of food and performers. As they are not very good at what they do yet, a watchful eye is enough to keep them at bay.
