    The Aethri
    Life, Birth

The Incari of Myzelis create a race of shapechangers capable of adapting and surviving in all of the biomes of the planet. At first they are purely instinctive, but over time they begin to remember their adaptations and teach each other how to adapt without needing to be shown. They invent their own languages, philosophies, societies, and eventually religions.

    The Age of Faith Begins
    Era beginning/end

The Age of Faith, when the Aethri, beings of immense potential and power of belief, created Inaethri. The Planes were created out of the Prime Material during this Age, when Inaethri were at their height of power and vying for more. The way in which these Planes were birthed was so destructive and damaging that the Incari of Myzelis, being torn apart by the struggles, lead to the event known as the Ripple, and the emergence of the Brume.

    The First Aethrin Migration
    Population Migration / Travel

For the first time, aethrin migrate to, and create settlements upon the island that will one day be called Gylidd, or Gylidd Island. They form villages all over the island, and over the years their stories become histories, their histories become legends, and their legends become Inaethri.

    The Sundering of Achar
    Celestial / Cosmic

Achar, the Incari of Myzelis' sun, is split into three pieces by the star magic of the Hacharwiddr, becoming the trinary Mhelydraud. The resulting social backlash against the elven gods and their mortal followers causes the Hacharwyddic Empire to collapse.

    Talchen Becomes the Ring
    Celestial / Cosmic

A group of Gylidder heroes known as the Chosen of Selisruun - Araclade, Aukkyroma, Elisarion, Isinfyra, Omensul, Tserriv, Ysaridan, and Zosskinyadis - travel to the surface of Talchen to defeat the Kings of Shadow in their Umbral City. The Selisruunic archons' victory is short lived, as when the last of the lords falls they scream a curse of hate into the night sky that conjures a massive spherical distortion of gravity and darkness from the infinite void. Ysaridan and his fellow champions are forced to retreat and abandon their captured city as the black hole races across the vacuum of space and shatters Talchen into billions of pieces. Over centuries, many of these fragments, as well as a sizeable chunk of the second moon's core, settle into an orbit that leaves Myzelis with a single massive ring of lunar debris.

    The Selisruunic Enclave
    Religious event

After serving the people of Gylidd dutifully for over 100 years, the Inaethri of the Selisruunic Enclave begin to undergo their Inaethridae, one after the other. For a period of nearly 1000 years, these chosen arcanists of Selisruun foster an age of relative peace between the Aethrin and Myzelis, minimizing the impact of other gods upon the planet and endorsing restraint over wanton magical exercise. But it was not to last, as by the end of this period new Inaethri of avarice, ambition and aggression had been born, leading the people of the Island down a path of reckless abandon that led directly to the Ripple, Brume, and the rise of Vrokíva.

    The Age of Isolation Begins
    Era beginning/end

A relatively short period of in the Inaethrite Era in which those emigrating from the Inaethri Leylines find their way through the Brume to the epicenter of the Ripple. Gylidd Syn Aethri is founded at the very end of this.

    The Age of Stone Begins
    Era beginning/end

Aethri and Inaethri attempt to find ways of controlling the Leylines and reclaiming the world taken over by the Brume. Megastructures are created throughout Myzelis, including the megacity of Gylidd Syn Aethri around the heart of the Leylines, for the goal of harnessing them. Although great achievements are made during this era, the Inaethri are never able to wrest control of the Leylines from Vrokíva. The end of the Age of Stone and the beginning of the Mortal Era is marked by the Inaethri no longer driving the Aethri and mortals toward a return of the Age of Faith, the last of the Aethri becoming other races, and the departure of most of the Inaethri to their extraplanar realms.

    The First Building of Gylidd
    Construction beginning/end

By the powers of the Inaethri and the toil of the Aethri, the heart of the leylines is ringed with a massive superstructure in the form of a stone plateau 17 miles across. The city built atop it is called Gylidd Syn Aethri - "the place the Aethri gathered." Almost the entire 300 mile wide island is settled and grand canals are carved into the earth to allow for enough agriculture to sustain the influx of settlers from across the entire world.

    The Landing Unification
    Religious event

A cadre of disparate aethrin formed a temporary alliance that - for the first time since Gylidd's First Founding - unified the entirety of the settlements on the island against a single foe. Their enemy is described only as a "terrible form of death" that crept from the Brume. The evil was banished at the cost of many lives, paving the way for some of these aethrin to undergo their Inaethrid and form the Pantheon of the Landing.

    The Coteric Dominion
    Political event

The frustration of the aethrin reached a fever pitch at this point during the Age of Stone, resulting in the ascension of a peerless, cunning autocrat named Borsival Batroc. In short order, the Merchant Lord and his coterie of imperialists took control of Gylidd, uniting the disparate factions and promising to never rest until the Brume was brought to heel. By the end of the 14th millenium BAI, not only was Gylidd covered in Megastructures, but each member of the coterie had undergone their own Inaethrid to continue their war against the confines of Vrokíva's influence, which rages to this day.

    The Shift of Gylidd
    Geological / environmental event

On this day, the Coteric Pantheon used their Inaethric powers to erect a megastructure within the confines of the Heartswood of Gylidd Syn Aethri. This egg-shaped, hollow, twisting stone obelisk was meant to bear raw universal magic that could compel the leylines of Myzelis to obey the will of the Inaethri alone. Across Myzelis, witnesses described seeing the Brume retreat en masse from every other border area - not enough to erase it, but enough to indicate that something unprecedented was happening. Misunderstood as a victory, the Coteric Pantheon was taken by surprise when Vrokíva used her incredible power to strike Gylidd Syn Aethri with a solid arm of the Brume, causing the entire city to tilt westward by several degrees. This event signalled the end of the Coteric Pantheon's dominion, as by and large they were blamed for the death and damage, forcing them to retreat from the public eye. The environmental impact of this event caused the eastern Inland Sea to dry up, permanently becoming the wasteland Sea of Bones over the next 50 years.

    Rise of the Dark
    Political event

The Shift of Gylidd Syn Aethri in 14190 left the thriving underdark communities beneath the city in ruins, with many of their most important leaders dead. A mass Inaethrid then fed quickly into a violent occupation of surfacer streets, as the underdark began to demand equal or greater representation in the Gyliddring and the Halls of the Inaethri.

    The Mass Exodus of Gylidd
    Population Migration / Travel

The end of the Inaethrite Era immediately follows a mass exodus of Inaethri and their worshippers from Gylidd, returning to the lands from whence they came. Having exhausted every idea on how to harness the Leylines and beat back the Brume, the gods refocus their efforts on reclaiming their old territories and revitalizing the mortal populations that serve them. Some of the aethrin remain with their patrons, but Gylidd has never since returned to the same population it had at the height of the Age of Stone.

    The Age of Clarity Begins
    Era beginning/end

With the end of the Aethri, mortals take the world stage. It is marked by a period of relearning. The magic and ability of the Aethri that facilitated the creation of the megastructures was not within the capability of mortals, and with it no longer accessible to them through their Aethri progenitors, necessitated devising new schema for manipulating magic and developing technology. This relearning also encompassed philosophy and sociology, experimenting with new ways of framing oneself in the world as it had become without the direct, driving interaction of the Inaethri. Much of the first half of the Age of Clarity was spent in the growing pains of trying, and often repeatedly failing, to let go of the ancient past. Many civilizations, as they began, flourished, and in some cases collapsed, splintered, or became something else, were an echo of the Age of Faith as mortals tested their boundaries, geographically and otherwise.

    Rise of Hsar
    Founding

Led by Archlich and Grand Cornu Tam Xaverik, the servants of The Master in Hsarova cast off their deceptions and formally declare the birth of the Realm of Hsarul, a haven of foul necromancy, demon worship, cruelty, and depravity. Their capital city is called Hsar, and beneath it they bury over 1,000,000 Hsarovans to serve as an undead army the likes of which Myzelis had never seen. The remainder of what was once Hsarova is subjugated and all resistance crushed now that Thamuir's power had been broken. The Grand Cornu sends invitations all across Myzelis for evildoers and monsters of all shapes and sizes to join their Realm, “feast upon Hsarova’s bones,” and “live free of the judgment of the light.” This unholy day is later called “the Harrowing.”

For two years the Army of Light scours the darkness of the city, tearing it down brick by brick and magically salting the earth to prevent Hsar’s return. The epic arcane magic wrought by Zelkor and the Curio to render the city uninhabitable is later referred to as the “Deconstruction.”

Given the option between abandoning the pursuit in the belief that Vrokíva would finish them, and following them into the Brume to make the most of this chance to wipe out the Master’s worshippers, Commander Aurelius Zelkor orders the pursuit without question or hesitation. Neither the Army of Light nor the Remnants of Hsar are ever seen again.

Shortly before midnight, Gylidd time, a massive purple stormcloud appeared over the city of Gylidd Syn Aethri. Far above the altitude of most storms, it spread across the Realm, then across the other Realms of Myzelis via the leylines. The storm's appearance came just after (or in many cases just before) threats conjured and empowered by the Shrike of Hsira and an extraplanar entity known as Xultras attacked several realms: Eslaiqeza, Gylidd, Kaedo, Kolkaris, Rilumir, Terota, Tlalli, Ulloren, Vesnica, and Zahira. Though the threats were by-and-large dealt with, and the Realm of Kolkaris saw the banishment of Xultras and the beginning of a return to natural order, the leylines across the world were forever tainted by the reciprocal fear generated by the night's events. The Shrike of Hsira's mortal form would be finally destroyed on this date, but immediately afterward the spirit of the Shrike would undergo an Inaethrid and ascend to usurp the mantle of Chaotic Evil Death from The Master.
