Physical Description
He is handsome however he carries such a darkness about him that most sane people are bothered by his expressions, most especially his piercing stare.
He has a tattoo of
The Shiield on his chest over his heart.
Mental characteristics
Mentaur came to Nehwon recently via the portal between
The Golden Griffon and
The Green Griffon. He offered himself as a "gift" of sorts to
King Edwynn Werrish II to assist in solidifying his wishes in the redevelopment of
The Temple of Elemental Evil.
Before he came to this land, he was a part of an organization called "The Shiield", which was an organization that primarily profited from a civil war between the Kingdoms of
Thesendarium and Minethol. While Mentaur is loyal to the organizations he pledges to, he is always on the look out for himself and will betray these organizations if he feels that is giving more than he is receiving, or if a greater organization can offer him more.
Mentaur is known to live a life of debauchery. He honestly does not care about the gender, species, or age of his sexual partners, as long as he is in total control of the encounter. He is absolutely a masochist.
When Mentaur was rising through the ranks of the military in
The Empire of Kang, at one point, he caught the "romantic" eye of a Captain, who continuously beat and raped Mentaur on an almost daily basis. Eventually, Mentaur gathered the strength and found the opportunity to kill the Captain, making it look like he was killed in battle, rather than assassinated.
He has had some formal education but by and large, has learned a vast amount of world history and politics through personal encounters, observation, and self-study. While he may be amoral, he is very intelligent and should not be under-estimated.
During the mission "Mentaur confronts Mey Gobar", Mentaur was continuously raped, tortured and crippled by his captors. Because of this, he suffers from a severe case of PTSD, alleviated to some degree by his addiction to cocaine and alcohol.
Extremely cunning and intelligence. He likes to be underestimated, as it gives him the intellectual advantage when others do.
Personality Characteristics
He is addicted to cocaine and hard liquor. He drinks heavily at night to go to sleep, and uses cocaine throughout the day in various amounts to get through his days.
Because of his drug and alcohol abuse, he tends to sweat profusely. He doesn't have an odor however and does the best he can to keep as clean as he can. He isn't finicky about his appearance, but when he has down time, he will go through extra lengths to "clean up".
Social
Mentaur is the leader of a network of spies and thieves known as "
Tejak" -- the Elven word for "Sudden Death".
Duventar Stovana - the leader of
The Shiield. Those close to both of these men know that Mentaur is in love with Duventar. Duventar, however, is unaware of this, and in fact, is on a man-hunt to locate Mentaur to kill him for his betrayal to
The Shiield Shiield.
He believes that there are gods but that there is nothing they can or will do for him in this life. He doesn't disrespect anyone else's religious / spiritual beliefs openly, however he feels that such beliefs weaken the mind and the will.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder:
Sense of self-importance.
Preoccupation with power, beauty, or success.
Entitled.
Can only be around people who are important or special.
Interpersonally exploitative for their own gain.
Arrogant.
Lack empathy.
Must be admired.
History
Mentaur met Baylor during an investigation of Baylor's activities of creating his thieves' guild, called Triad Thieves' Guild (TTG). Mentaur coerced Baylor into using TTG as a puppet organization to Tejak, and declared both Baylor and TTG as his "property"; Mentaur thus physically branded Baylor's chest wiith branding irons depicing Mentaur's personal sigil as well as TTG's sigil.
Nicknames & Petnames
Mentaur calls Baylor "Bay Bay", both a diminuation of his name and to ironically sound like he's calling him "baby", a disparaging nickname at best.
Relationship Reasoning
Mentaur curshed Baylor Thrasian's rising guild and used is as a "shell organization" to help launder and conceal Tejak's illicit activities.

History
Mentaur's early years were shaped by the influences of The Empire of Kang, where he was born and raised. His remarkable abilities and exceptional intelligence quickly set him apart, earning him widespread recognition within the military ranks. This reputation eventually caught the attention of the Empire's ruler, Tekang. Subsequently, Mentaur began serving directly under Tekang, tasked with executing the ruler's clandestine operations, notably Tekang's own "hit list."
The details surrounding one specific assignment remain shrouded in mystery, particularly the identity of the intended target. However, it is a matter of public record that Mentaur was given a direct order by Tekang to assassinate an individual, an order which Mentaur chose to defy. Refusing Tekang's command was not only an act of rebellion but also a violation of the empire's stringent laws, where declining any directive from Tekang is deemed a capital offense.
As a result of this insubordination, Mentaur became a fugitive with a substantial bounty for his capture - $50 million for his return alive and $5 million if deceased. Despite this hefty reward, no one has yet succeeded in apprehending Mentaur, whose elusive nature continues to defy the efforts of bounty hunters and authorities alike.
Relationship Reasoning
Having betrayed Duventar Stovana, Duventar demands that he is the only one to take Mentaur's life.
