Radar
Radar plays a huge role in Combat effectiveness and battlefield awareness. It is a simple yet complex tool that can easily give players a crucial advantage with the right decisions.
Always displayed on a player's HUD outside of Menus, the Radar in NEXUS functions more like a motion tracker than an explicitly detailed map. It is a 360-degree display that tracks enemies, allies, and objectives. The Radar is broken up into six conical sections and three radial sections. The player is indicated as a small white triangle in the lower middle section.
Distance & Direction
Depending on where an Enemyis, the Radar will glow red, indicating that motion has been detected.- The outermost ring will glow when an enemy is detected at 30-45 meters away.
- The middle ring will glow when an enemy is within 6-29 meters.
- The central ring surrounding the player will glow when an enemy is within 5 meters. Depending on where the player is looking, the red glow will rotate around Radar to indicate what direction motion has been tracked.
Elevation
Motion is also tracked based on elevation. Enemies tracked within 6-29 meters will be displayed as a glowing section, but it will be in the shape of a triangle whereas the point of the glow will indicate if they are above or below the player by more than 5 meters. If an enemy is using a Skill or Ability that removes them from Radar, they will not be tracked. Crouching briefly removes the user from opposition Radar, however they will blink for a half second on motion trackers every three seconds to maintain balance.Targets
Allies, NPCs, objectives, and some intractable objects (depending on player Skills or Abilities) are also tracked via Radar. Elevation for these objects is displayed as a small triangle inside of their respective icons.- Allies in the same Squadron will be shown as yellow dots.
- Players not in the same Squadron are tracked as green dots.
- NPC’s are white dots.
- Objectives are tracked with a white diamond.
- When tracked, reward chests are shown as white chest icons.
- When tracked, resource nodes are tracked with a white hexagon.
- Objects that can be tracked to an area but cannot be specifically pinpointed are shown as large, slightly opaque white circles.
