Founders Week

Celebrated in the Federated Union of Eastern Kalin, Founders Week is a patriotic holiday in mid-summer celebrating the core Founders of the Union.
It was originally established early in the Third Age, after the deaths of Gareth Pancem and Grug Pancem from old age within the same week of each other.
The "Founders" in question are a cadre of late Second Age leaders, thinkers, and soldiers who are seen, in one way or another, to have contributed to the foundation of the Union. Such names include:

• Gareth Pancem, for leading the charge in founding the Union in the aftermath of The Return, as well as its first President.
• Grug Pancem, Gareth's adopted brother who both acted as a Virnosian General during the return, and was foudnational in the Union's creation, especially with an eye for furthering the rights of Half-Orcs in its laws and statures.
• Tutiro Cam, the Second President of the Union and the once ruler of the Atresan Empire in the late Second Age. He is especially looked up to by Wood Elves for his role in settling the Wood Elf diaspora in the early Third Age.
• Vonrig Blastkeg, one of the foremost Technomancers of the late Third Age, and founder and first Grandmaster of the Order of Technomancy. Has his own holiday as well in Blastkeg.
• Talina Vran, a former Virnosian cavalry officer and close friend and confidant of Gareth Pancem. Was foundational in the Virnosian Rebellions as well as the post-rebellion period. One of her distant descendants is Maximilian Vran.
• Hugo Grens, a former Virnosian politician. Husband to Talina Vran and foundational in the re-establishment of the Atresan and Ibrim economies after The Return.
• Magzoa Lumak, an influential Virnosian leader during the Virnosian Rebellions. During the early days of The Union, she penned dozens of famous essays and books on equality in both racial and economic terms, her most famous being "Capital: A Critique of Political Economy." She is one of the most controversial of the Founders.
• Marian Utsler. An influential Virnosian Leader during the Virnosian Rebellions. He is mostly remembered as a Virnosian martyr, dying for liberty in the culminating battle of the Rebellions.
• Themir Possession, an influential Tiefling economist, largely responsible for the Union Banking System centered in Ibrim.

While there are many more counted among the "Founders", the above are the most notable.
In the Union Founders Week is often celebrated with time off of work, parties, grills/cookouts, and general celebration. Though it celebrated far less in Rustera and Dracon.
