Wood Elf

Once the most secretive of the Elven Ancestors, the Wood Elves mostly kept to themselves in their forests of The Torva'Ne and rarely traveled to the lands beyond. This changed in the Third Age with the exodus of the Wood Elves from the Torva'Ne into the Federated Union of Eastern Kalin.
Wood Elves don’t look all that different from their ancestors at first glance. However, upon closer inspection differences become more obvious. For one Wood Elves tend be slightly shorter than the other Elf races, making them even more agile and quick footed. They can also, on rare occasion, show signs of their natural ancestry, with things like small sets of antlers on their heads, patches of fur or feathers on their skin, beards made of moss, and so on.
Wood Elves tend to be more "in tune" with nature than even other Elven sub-species, and have a knack for druidism. While not any biological or written law, they also seem to have a distaste for modern Kalinite weapons and tools, often preferring older style weapons and tools such as bows and scythes.

Much like the other Elven species, the Wood Elves saw their fertility and birth rates decline in the early Third Age with The Shifting, though they were the least affected by the change in more ways than one.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

In Kalin

With the Federated Union of Eastern Kalin taking in most of the Wood Elven refugees from the Torva'Ne during their exile, most wound up setting down routes in the nation and integrating to some degree or another, a natural progression after being allied with the Union's successor state of Atresa for so long. Most are still found here, but some refuse to integrate and can be found in small enclaves throughout the woods of Kalin.

In Efaanu

It is said that some Wood Elves traveled to Faeane Galarturie after their exile from the Torva'Ne, but this has never been confirmed. Otherwise, any Wood Elves in Efaanu would be far travelers.

In Wahar

Most Wood Elves found in Wahar would be far travelers or explorers.

In Archin

Most Wood Elves found in Archin would be far travelers or explorers.
