Solaran Sea

The Solaran Sea stretches about 2,500 miles from the Inner Sea to the east and the Great Ocean to the west. The sea is roughly 500 miles wide north to south over most of that length, except where peninsulas jut into the sea.   The name "Solaran" derives from the word "solar", which was a word for the Sun in an ancient language. At the height of summer, the Sun appears to rise from the eastern entrance to the sea, and set in the western exit to the Great Ocean.
