One of the Phalanx's supernaturally-empowered members, Layla is a young woman with a love of the occult. Through hard work and dedication she had claimed the power of a Hex Maniac alongside her status as a Psionic. Her psychic powers have become boosted since gaining possession of the Mind Plate.

Having always had a love for the occult and the abnormal even when she was little, Layla slowly began to dabble and explore the supernatural from when she would watch pokestar studio horror films such as red fog of terror and ghost eraser especially! both her growing love of pranks and mischief, and her love of Ghost/Psychic Pokémon would grow supported by her loving parents and the natural ancient history and superstitions of her long standing hometown.Though as time went on, she found she had latent psionic abilities. Finding she could levitate, she trained until she had reached the point where she rarely has to focus on levitating to make it work. After growing up in Allegro, Thenia was consumed by the Blinding. Seeing the land in a desolate state, Layla seeked out work to help people in need during this turn in the region. This led to her working as a guard at the Sleeping Snorlax, working hard to get people care and safety, and becoming part of the community. Layla participoated in the Double Battle as Phineas' partner to see if the Phalanx were allowed to stay at the settlement. She seeks to not only continue exploring the supernatural world, but to expand her psychic potential and grow stronger as a trainer alongside her loyal Visiona, a Natu who saved her from an angered wild Cofagrigus that had its resting place disrupted by Layla attempting to commune with the spirits in some old ruins though Visiona would get hurt sporting a scar on her eye. Notably her entire family hates Team Accel ("the IRS" jokes abound,) and its believed to be a long standing deal for as long as the family made a name for itself in their hometown.

Some time after Layla took up the guardsman position to help people durign her time at the Sleepy Snorlax, she and Madeline slowly got to know one another, watching the PokeStar Studio movies Layla's father produced with Ava as a way to spend time together and pass time. All three of them were close as can be. Madeline became afflicted with a mysterious illness after being exposed to the energy released from the Blinding. She didn't make it, and the true cause of her sickness was unknown. This was until the party speak with her spirit thanks to Koji's divine gifts. She gave the party the information she was aware of, then tells her "sisters" that she loves them before returning to eternal rest.
