OttL Session 8: Full Moon in Polaris Part 2

General Summary

Natsu, continuing from her vision in Session 7: Full Moon in Polaris Part 1, sees a strange half-dwarven half-tiefling creature creep up on her father, Kei, and hit him in the head with a hammer. Kei is at the very least knocked unconscious. It is unclear at this time if he survived or not. The vision appears to have taken place in either Arborea or The Beastlands. During this vision, Natsu also sprouts her second tail. This transformation is not immediately apparent due to her transformative disguise.   Meanwhile, Hobbs is talking to Dreamonskii in front of a memorial to the Sedna. Dreamonskii has just finished exhaustive telling Hobbs about every single person on the list. They continue to talk for some time, making pleasantries and theorizing about Hobbs' parents, before agreeing to get together and talk again sometime. In particular, Dreamonskii says he will occasionally visit Hobbs in his sleep.   Afterwards, Dreamonskii and Hobbs go back into the main room and sit with Natsu at the bar. Dreamonskii jokes that Natsu looks like she saw a ghost, and she reveals that she effectively has seen exactly that. She describes her vision to Dreamonskii, and even shows him Vecna's Orb. Dreamonskii is startled by this, saying that the orb was actually stolen from Penguin's personal treasury around 19 years ago. Natsu manages to persuade him out of immediately reporting this fact to his boss.   Through some further discussion, Natsu learns that the orb was crafted by Vecna, goddess of secrets. It is used to spy on people, and shows the most recent important event in their lives. Dreamonskii also mentions that they would very much like to find whoever stole the orb and kill them. Natsu declares the intention to travel to Avernus and personally return the orb to Penguin, in the hopes of getting reunited with her father.   Meanwhile in the back room, Thaiva Phenol and Memento Vitae are done talking with Kiri, Amadeus, Lenora, and Memento Ipsum. As they are leaving Thaiva Phenol smells blood. It seems that Memento Ipsum had grabbed onto Amadeus' leg during the conversation and had made a large gash in it without either of the two noticing. Kiri leads both Amadeus and Memento Ipsum into a room even further back in the building to help tend to the wound and get them cleaned up.   Afterwards, Memento Vitae has a conversation with Lenora and asks questions about her curse. Memento Vitae rolled low on his persuasion check, but Lenora does say that the curse was given to her by Penguin, who she describes as "that asshole who recently took over Avernus". According to her the curse originally seemed kind of like a good thing; it does come with power, after all, but the downsides were simply not worth it. In particular she claims not to remember her own face. She seems to have accepted her condition, though. According to her she could end it at any time but the price was something she was not willing to pay.   As this conversation is wrapping up, Memento Vitae hears the sound of glass breaking and gets Lenora to help him investigate. Natsu overhears this, and so she, Thaiva Phenol, and Hobbs follow as well. When they reach the source of the sound, they see Kiri fighting with both Memento Ipsum and Amadeus. Memento Ipsum is on the ground with Kiri on top of her. Amadeus, meanwhile, is frantically attacking Kiri.   Combat begins, and the two moon plague patients are eventually calmed down. Thankfully nobody was infected during the scuffle, and both patients apologize profusely afterwards. After a fair amount of arguing about who does or does not deserve blame for the situation, Kiri and Memento Vitae chain the patients to the wall inside a storage room specifically dedicated for this purpose. The two make small talk in the meantime, and Kiri insists it really was not a big deal. Supposedly she would likely have been wrestling a kraken named Bubbles if she were "back home" in Vigrid.   Natsu and Hobbs set off to obtain some of the knockout juice beer that was left on the airship and sell it in the church. Once left alone, Kiri begins to flirt (very, very awkwardly) with Thaiva Phenol. Thaiva Phenol actually does show interest, though, and the two leave the church to go get a room at The Bloated Sunfish. Shortly after they leave Natsu and Hobbs return and begin selling. They push this as a "cure" for the Moon Plague, and even Dreamonskii asks for a sip, inadvertently breaking his 10 year sobriety pact. Dreamonskii takes this as his cue to immediately depart the festivities in the hopes of preventing himself from doing something he will regret. Ignacio Icarsus also leaves the church to seek out Kiri, in the hopes of making sure that Amadeus and Memento Ipsum are taken care of.   Thaiva Phenol and Kiri are just arriving at The Bloated Sunfish as a dwarven fellow is thrown through the window, clearly seriously injured, and begins running towards The church of Olidammara. Kiri immediately draws a hammer and charges in to try and assist, Ignacio Icarsus catches up to them just as the threat - which turns out to be an anthropomorphized blink dog - teleports directly into Kiri's face and chomps down on it, getting an extremely high attack roll. Ignacio Icarsus and Thaiva Phenol immediately attempt to help Kiri get cleaned up, and the three return to The church of Olidammara. Kiri finds a succubus that would normally be working in the now-defunct lust room, and is promptly diagnosed with a were-raven form of Moon Plague.   Kiri decides to go to the Church of Ascension, in search of someone she thinks might be able to help cure her. She offers to take Natsu along, since she was thinking of going anyway. Thaiva Phenol joins them for emotional support, and upon arrival they are brought in to see Plato. For his first question, he points at Thaiva Phenol:
Did you know she's a conduit too?
