Vecna
Vecna was the goddess of evil secrets, and very little is known about her or her intentions. Her followers and associates almost never willingly disclosed their true allegiance. In some cases, those she works with were even bound by oath or contract to never even say her name out loud. Her true form was unknown, but she frequently appeared as a raven, an ancient black dragon, or as a drow. Vecna was widely regarded as the most insightful creature in existence, and has been known to blackmail individuals who are desperate to keep something hidden. She preferred to act by manipulating others to do her bidding instead of getting involved directly.
She was originally believed to have died during combat with Iapetus in the The Age of Mortality, but this turned out to be a lie. She was struck by Dénouement, thus rendering her mortal, but she did not die. Instead she slew Lolth on the field of battle and took over her body and her followers. She stirred up a great deal of trouble during The Age of Coalescence, most notably including the demand for a constant stream of live sacrifices to sustain her body. She even created a special order, known as Bloodseekers, whose sole purpose was to get her more sacrifices by any means necessary.
The Divine Council decided, by an almost unanimous vote, to exile her along with her home plane of Gehenna. Once Vecna and her plane were expelled from The multiverse and into the Cosmic Soup, the The Age of Coalescence came to an end. Badb and Macha, the two surviving thirds of The Morrigan at the time, willingly chose to enter exile with her. None of those three were heard from again.

Penguin and Vecna were allies during The Age of Mortality, though the details of this arrangement were never made public. This agreement came to an end when Vecna died in Ragnarok, thus reigniting the current war between Gehenna and The nine hells.
