Gillaea

Gillaea is one of the ten regions in the Eleazarian Empire. It is located at the West of the Empire, bordering the Western Wildlands. Amongst the inhabitants of the Empire it is also called The Lion's Den.
After Kadmiels Conquest, Gilead Nicolas declared himself ruler over the western povince by the grace of Kadmiel. He startet building a theocratic monarchy, which after his last blood relative die in 230 AKC, was transformed into an elective theocratic monarchy. Nicolas Gilead is worshiped today in Gillaea as an angelic being.
Gillaeas capital is the city of Ilumna, which also houses the seat of the Gillaean High Inquisition. The Inquisition was created by Gileads daughter, to protect her fathers heritage. She drafted a concordate, which regulates the Inquisitions duties and rights within the Empire until today. Strong views on religous purity and the abidance of catechism often bring Gillaea in conflict with other provinces or even the Senate. The Inquisition is
During The Eleven Year War Gillaea was one of the first provinces to openly support the war effort of the Emperor, sending the legions, stationed in Gillaea to the front lines. The city of Farángi was held until 724 AKC under Gillaean military supervision. Also Gillaea took in the majority of Dhussin refugees during the eleven years of war, making it the province with the third largest population of halflings and gnomes (after Dhussin and Weresoc).
