Dilerg Swamps
This swamp stretches for miles and among humans is, if anything, even more feared than the depths of the Elven Wood, for few have ever returned to tell the tale of what they have seen or heard within.
Geography
At the edges of the last Elven strongholds of the Isle of Il lay the fetid swamps of Dilerg. Low laying, several rivers and small streams run into this land that slowly sinks into pools of freshwater and small patches of damp earth, tree's and countless other forms of life hugging on before the water turns saline and the swamp is washed out to the sea to the south-west.
Ecosystem
The Swamp teams with all sorts of life, made more myriad and monstrous by the infusion of power from the Alfheim and long history of war and conflict between Elves and Giant.
Besides myriad kinds of insects, arachnids, fish and other mundane creatures, countless Fey creatures such as Sprites , Hags, Dryads and Trolls. Even the degenerate remnants of ancient Giant kingdoms sometimes reside here; Ogre, Hill Giant and stranger things.
The Swamp is thus vicious; a kill or be killed world where to be noticed is to be eaten.
