Xinity

Xinity is the state to the far east of Obrura and home to The Ethereal Summit, Elmor a small village, and Numbwater . Natives to Xinity are called Xinitians. The history of Xinity is as varied as those who have lived here since the beginning of time. Before The Sundering the The Ethereal Summit was considered a holy place and the closest one could get to the celestial plane without traveling there. It was a religiously neutral place, with temples to all 6 of the Major Gods as well as shrines to local minor deities. Now it is only a place of hardship. Soon after The Sundering Aether was discovered within the mountain and as The Xopis Empire had as many enemies as they did dissenters so Coldstone Prison was founded as a prison and work camp.

Geography

Xinity is a state that is made up of entirely of The Ethereal Summit. This whole state is cold magical mountains, that despite the proximity to the barren desert of Dueide sees clouds and life in ways not seen elsewhere.

Localized Phenomena

This is the only know location of Aether and seems to be the origin of the wild magic storms. The path between Swordbreak and the The Ethereal Summit see these storms in higher concentration than anywhere else making the journeys to Coldstone Prison are treacherous to both the guards and the prison.

Climate

Year round the Majority of Xinity is freezing and quite a hostile environment. There are few exceptions to this and those exceptions are only due to the use of magic to protect Numbwater.

Fauna & Flora

Since the beginning of Aether harvesting, the flora and fauna in the The Ethereal Summit have changed. The plants on the mountains proper and become less dense and their reproductive cycles have decreased significantly over the last few centuries. Some have changed in ways barely noticeable, though most have changed drastically. Plants that were once medicinal now are poisonous, and many more plants are violent. The number of animals has drastically decreased, making seeing one a rare occasion. However, the animals have also undergone a physical change many now sporting a more green and blue hue than before. They have also increased in their territorial behaviors. While a sighting is unlikely, those sightings and interactions are far more likely to end with an altercation.

Natural Resources

The main resource from Xinity is Aether. Aether is used for everything from powering cities and vehicles and empowering magical constructs. However, due to the nature of the flora and fauna in the area, brave adventurers are often hired to bring back a poison found only on the mountain slopes or the hide of an animal for use in textiles or decor. Collectors are willing to pay exorbitant prices for these materials.

History

Before the The Sundering The Ethereal Summit was home to various households and families that lived mostly in peace. After the The Sundering The Xopis Empire took control of the mountains in order to mine it clean of Aether.

Tourism

There is no tourism into Xinity. The only people going into the mountains, are prisoners, adventurers on a mission, or those who still live in the towns that managed to survive The Sundering and the subsequent invasion by The Xopis Empire.
