Rostungur
Ten miles off the northeastern coast of Ostland lies the large island of Rostungur, named as a haven for the many rostung colonies that live on its rocky, windswept beaches. It is bordered on the north, east and south by the Atyanta Ocean and is separated from the Heimval mainland by the Ferlig Channel.
Rostungur is a hard, rocky island, lashed by fierce winds. Its interior is forested with hardy firs and its coasts by sea grass that give way to broad pebble beaches. The island has no permanent settlements, but pirates and hunters of hval and rostung make camp on the beaches of its sheltered coves.
It is an unspoken agreement of the sea faring Ostir clans that Rostungur is the property of none and any who would lay claim to the island or seek to make permanent settlement on the island would earn the ire of all who make use of it.
The only permanent structure on the island is a small temple of stone, dedicated to Thera on the eastern coast of the island over looking the Atyanta Ocean. It is there that the young women of Ostland seeking to join the Saedir travel to train and undergo the trials necessary to join the ranks of the sisterhood.
