Urkan and Silan
The Bright Ones
Urkan and Silan are the telluri of the yellow and red suns, Kal and Bal. Urkan and Silan are their names in the ejdehan languages, who revere them as the Bright Ones. Just as with the spirits of the three moons, the idea of the celestial bodies possessing and generating natural, telluri of their own, instead of simply being associated with gods of exani or elani origin, is hotly debated in academies and temples of Torvalen.
However, the Arra'sharr, the sun speakers of the ejdehan tribes who commune with these spirits, have little regard for the bickering of the ignorant. Where other religions associate the suns with the eyes, chariots, wheels and other such trappings of their own gods, the Arra'shar recognize the true, natural spirit of these entities. They and others who commune with the suns understand that these are not simply balls of light in the sky, but instead complex, fluid bodies, more vast and powerful than most others would credit. In addition to the suns' individual telluric spirits, these two beings possess a unified spirit as well, created as they orbit each other in their endless cosmic dance.
The nature of these spirits is more alien to understanding than any other telluri and those that commune with them spend decades learning how to comprehend and communicate with them. Those that do achieve this communion cannot readily explain it to lay people, but are capable of astounding feats in the sensing and control of light, heat and gravity, more advanced than the most sophisticated semiotic magician can achieve. In return, they grant the spirits a way to perceive themselves and the universe around them outside of their own, unconscious minds, something all telluri desire.
