At the behest of the Zakarum High Council and urging of Lazarus, Leoric is sent to govern the land of Khanduras. He repurposes the crumbling monastery into a Zakarum cathedral and declares himself king.

Khanduras declares war on Westmarch
Military actionUrged by his advisors, and at the behest of Archbishop Lazarus, King Leoric declares war on Westmarch, sending his royals armies south. The war is a total loss, and less than a year later, those remaining soldiers who survived the failed campaign scatter into the Western Kingdoms. The loyalest of these returned to their homes in Khanduras to find the kingdom in total disarray.
