High Elf
High elves are a lighter skinned subspecies of elf that populate the more temperate areas of the world. They're typically seen in the northernmost reaches of the Madaki Empire and most of the former Na'liman territories such as Na'dya, Na'lima, and Tu-lux. In addition, they're an important part of Elarondian culture, as well as bringing the fine tradition of racial genocide to Arkhera during their immigration to the Arkheran Isle of Ver'ghan.
They're largely the same as most elves; tall, youthful, born without natural magic save anti magic, but capable of spellwork. Much like humans, they're also capable of hosting the Thread, which as a subspecies that lives in Yukishima, is relevant. However, much like forest elves, they're incapable of being kogane, having a limited capacity as thread hosts. In general, they're slightly taller than dark elves.

Facial characteristics
High elves, as with most elves, have a tendency towards youthfulness, with noses remaining at a youthful proportion to the rest of their faces for much longer than humans. Unlike dark elves, it's almost impossible for all but the oldest and most masculine of high elves to grow facial hair.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
High elves prefer cooler or temperate regions compared to their darker cousins, and thus occupy less equatorial zones like Yukishima, Na'lima and Ti-Lux, though they share Nadibha, Arkhera, and Elarond with dark elves. In Yukishima, they are known as 'white elves'.

High elves, like dark elves, have different naming conventions depending on the culture they're a part of. Madaki high elves have names reflecting their Renewalist beliefs, containing 'el', 'il' 'al', along with 'on' as a suffix in higher-class high elves.
Madaki male name examples: Nasuon, Kareon, Ezra, Dalil, Ramin, Gabriel.
Madaki female name examples: Mariel, Herael, Deborah, Ruth, Esther, Maryam. Northern Ameristian high elves from Na'lima, Na'dya and Ti-lux instead have 'eme', 'ur', and 'asti' as part of their names, 'on' being a suffix for males and 'a' being a suffix for females. Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
High elves have historically tended to be definitively on top or oppressed, rarely sitting by as an equal among other races. In the Southern Ameristian nations they occupy, they're lower class citizens along with their dark-skinned cousins, and they receive similar treatment in Na'lima and Ti-Lux, being a slave import from the latter until Yukishima officially embargoed the slave trade.
In Yukishima, white elves recently acquired equal rights to humans, but only in the reign of the empress preceding the current, Vorya Soltelle. Meanwhile, in Elarond, they share dominance over the isle with their dark elven cousins, imposing restrictions on humans and outright committing genocide against goblinese immigrants. In Arkhera they are similarly high-class, with the Boathis family consistently producing the most supremacist and racist kings in the Royal Electorate's history, and the Selenia family economically strangle dark elves and humans alike.

Average Physique
Generally tall and youthful in appearance, like most elves. Unlike dark elves, they lack the hereditary condition that can result in individuals retaining the height of a child, so on average, tallness is more guaranteed as a high elf.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
High elves range from pale to light olive in skin tone, and though they can tan, more often than not they burn in the sun. Their eye colours range from pale red to sapphire blue to hazel brown. Their hair, meanwhile, has similar variance to humans; blonde, brown, and black are the most common colours, though silver hair from childhood isn't uncommon. Arkheran high elves sometimes dye their hair if it's lighter.
