Session 26: Gwyndara Report

General Summary

After receiving the gift of a rune for Marcus, the Umbra Nex organized their mission priorities. They sent The Jabari with 600 gold worth of trade goods and 300 gold to pay for crew up to Dunwell, and potentially north of Dunwell, in search of the third boat of Verus and Magnus. It was decided that The Ranger, along with the original sailors of the Jabari and the former imperial soldiers, would leave for Alderland and do some trading along the way.
Before leaving, Vass checked on the sick along with Lyria and talked with Sara. Sara confessed her motive for concealing her identity on the Bertha and seeking a life outside of Farn. She revealed that she was born with some magical abilities that are now manifesting. She wished to join them in Alderland to discover why she is getting these powers. Vass and Lyria agreed she could join them as a sailor, and Vass would apprentice her.
At the docks, Lavinia, Lyria, and Vass met a group of Zamoran men, including a strange man named Shinji, who took great interest in Vass. Shinji asked many personal questions and said that the Zamoran was looking for him. The strange man walked away but spent a lot of time watching the Ranger afterward.
The next day, the party left for Alderland, seemingly unfollowed by the strange man. They made it to the mouth of the river after several bad sailing days, losing some time from the original estimate. It took almost 8 days to make it up the river rather than 5 or 6.
Upon anchoring near the shore, the session ended in a cliffhanger as Eifernaucht attacked the Ranger in the night during the second watch. Lavinia and Lyria are on deck with a single other sailor in the roost.
