Siliconian War
The Siliconian War was a galactic conflict between the human Global Union and the Siliconians that took place primarily between 2210 and 2215, with some precursors to the conflict occurring as early as 2185.
Early Stages
The early stages of the conflict involved attacks on human space colonies. Confirmation of alien attack was not possible due to the infiltration of colony leadership and destruction of communications systems. Survivors including Taja Gates, Aleksandr Ilyich Voronov, and Joseph Dando from the Proxima Centauri B colony were among the only known survivors of these attacks, but arrived back to Earth too late to warn the GU. However, the loss of communications with all space colonies triggered a substantial GU military buildup.Battle for Mars
The first decisive battle of the war took place in early 2210, in which the 1st GUSF Orbital Fleet under the command of General Alain Lorieux engaged a Siliconian fleet above Mars. The battle was a pyrrhic victory for the GU, with attrition rates of over 60%. To complicate matters, Siliconian seeder ships rained destruction onto the surface of Mars, triggering use of orbital kinetic weapons which caused widespread destruction and left half the planet a smoldering Siliconian-infested ruin.1st and 2nd Battles for Earth
The year 2215 proved to be decisive for the war, with an attack on the GU's Union Congress and two offensives on Earth resulting in costly GU victories. Much of the surface of the Russian Exclusion zone on Earth became infested by Siliconians, triggering Operation Reclaimer, a GU combined arms counterattack that saw limited success.Battle at Carina
With substantial intelligence gained about the Siliconian base of operations in the Carina nebula from the 2nd Battle for Earth, the GUSF pooled its resources into a final offensive via Einstein-Rosen bridge, hoping to end the war with the new year. Squad G19, a special covert military unit representing the combined effort of the GUSF, Genesis, and Martian resistance forces, was tasked with destroying the Siliconian superordinate at Carina, which they carried out successfully.
