Larengó, the capital of the nation of Larendar, is a moderately sized city supporting almost 30 thousand people. Larengó is a relatively young settlement, only brought to its true prestige about 120 years ago; however, it has grown exponentially in influence due to being the seat of the Larendan government.

How is the settlement governed? Leaders? System? One might expect the Larendan Circle to be in control of the city in which they reside, but they tend to take a backseat and let the Faddríd do their job. With the prospect of all-out war and increased public unrest, they have begun taking more interest in the day-to-day operations of their capital. Currently, Larengó is governed by Faddríd Luis Pensu (human). He does his best to keep appearances up, but he is terrified and wholly unprepared for hard times. He has been stumbling into success his whole life; in fact, his election to Faddríd 4 years ago was based on the joking promise that he would install a beloved town cat to an official position (Pooshy is now the head of port security). As such, he has been bowing to the circle's every desire hoping against hope that he can stay on top of the evermore heated situation.Defenses
Being the seat of the Larendan Circle and capital of The Republic of Larendar, there are decent incentives to join the Larengó City Guard; the population of which fluctuates but remains large. Benefits include exemption from the draft (should it be needed), provided quarters, hot meals, and clean water.Crime
Larengó used to have a prominent blindspot for many types of unsavory individuals; the black market flourished due to the city's coastal location and frequent trade. However, the zeal and enrollment of the town guard have skyrocketed due to the ongoing Revenge for Froañó military campaign, and the criminal underbelly has been reduced to a shadow of its former self. Even extortion seems to have gone out of style, with a larger and larger chance that a gang member may accidentally stumble upon an aspiring soldier with a sword just itching to taste combat. City officials, guards, and judges can still be bribed, but the standard 'prices' have increased tenfold as even they have to be careful with the prospect of martial law looming over the nation.Organizations
