Immortal Council
Description
The Immortal Council is the governing body of Spring Garden and is comprised of opteran who have chosen not to metamorphose into adults. Although they are largely incapable of defending themselves in their caterpillar forms, they can live indefinitely, allowing them to oversee decision-making for the monastery. Notably, since adult opteran only live for one year, the council decides who are allowed to mate and when they should do so. Although they are seen as somewhat overbearing, their decisions ensure that the population of opteran remains stable.Base of Operations
The Immortal Council are wholly dedicated to preserving the Spring Garden monastery and do not hold any other territories.Relationships
The Immortal Council are highly secretive and mostly communicate with outsiders through their one remaining knight, Keeper.Allies
Despite their initial wariness, after the hunt of the suneater bear, the council considered Kapital much-needed allies and welcomed them to their sanctuary as they wished.Enemies
The Order of the White Stag are territorial and prefer for outsiders to prove themselves before entering the Fellgrim Forest. Although they have not attacked the monastery directly, their underhanded interference during the hunt of the suneater bear could only endanger Spring Garden. Adelaide dislikes the monks of Spring Garden, calling them "invaders who may deserve their plight." Because of the woods' connection to the Feywild, it is likely that other elves who serve archfey, like the Dancing Lady, feel similarly about the council and their charges.Members
These three eladrin guarded the sanctuary together:History
When the suneater bear threatened Spring Garden, the Immortal Council deliberated and decided that adventurers were needed to solve their problem. Through Keeper, the council permitted Kapital to proceed with the hunt. With the beast dealt with, peace returned to the monastery, and a friendship was forged between Kapital and Spring Garden.
