Pyrax

Pyrax was an eladrin pyromancer who attempted to save Spring Garden from the threat of the suneater bear. While the beast was immune to his magic, he was burnt alive by its fire breath. He ultimately died of his severe burns.

Description

After his battle with the suneater bear, Pyrax was unrecognizable. He was unevenly burnt, some of his flesh melted to the bone, some of him charred to blackened crisps. Only the inside of one hand, which clung desperately to one of the beast's feathers, was unmarked.

History

Despite Keeper's advice, Pyrax chose to confront the suneater bear alone. Although he was a "master of fire," the beast merely swallowed every flame he flung.
Horribly, horribly burnt, he sought out Lothrien and begged her to tend to him. The dryad merely shook her head, saying even if he would pay the price she requested, she would not be able to save him. As Kapital arrived to speak with the dryad, the man finally collapsed and faded away.
