Settlements of Chapel Valley

Chapel Valley is home to a number of settlements, many of which were founded after the The Great Hunt approximately 50 years ago. These settlements range in size from miniscule trading posts to massive cities, and are located in a great diversity of environments. This article contains a brief description of each known settlement in Chapel Valley, and provides links to each settlement's main article page, provided that you have access to the full article:

Basinvale:
Basinvale is a small fishing and mining town located on the Western shores of the Vaincrag Basin. It has a moderate population, and serves as an important port city for trade and commerce.

Beacon:
Beacon is the provincial capital of Chapel Valley, and is the largest settlement of the region by far. The sprawling settlement is built on top of the Wayrose Hills, and serves as a center for business, trade, and transportation in the Valley.

Bigmountain:
Bigmountain is a city on the Eastern edge of Chapel Valley beneath the Gracewall Range. It has a fairly large population, and is one of the faster growing communities in Chapel Valley, thanks to the continued development of the Stevenson Line, a railway that is being constructed on the Eastern edge of the Valley.

The Chapel:
The Chapel is an ancient temple built on top of the Outcast Peaks. A small settlement has been built up around the Chapel, and it is a popular pilgrimage for archeologists, clerics, priests, and other curious adventure-seekers.

Coldridge :
Coldridge is a small but growing settlement at the Southwestern edge of the Shattered Plains. Though it is only at the edge of the Shattered Plains, the threat of the strange beasts that stalk the plains are an ever-present threat to the folk of Coldridge.

Crossroads:
Crossroads is a small trading post built at the intersection of the Crossroad Bend and Settler's Highway road systems. It is a popular resting point for travelers making their way to The Chapel from Rich Banks.

Deadplains:
Deadplains is a small town located at the intersection of the Eastwalk and Middle Pass roads. It is a hub community for a number of small homesteads and farms built along the Broken Brook.

Far Harbor:
Far Harbor is the newest settlement of Chapel Valley, and is the furthest settlement of the Iron Dominion. It is a small port town built at the Southeastern edge of the Valley.

Glinlow:
Glinlow is a small town in decline located in the Glinlow Mire. Though it's position along the Longshore Road should improve its chances of long-term survival, many of its citizens have left, claiming that the Mire is haunted.

Hellford:
What was once the thriving city of Hellford is now a blighted ruin in the center of the Good Harvest Plains. 20 years ago the city was destroyed during a standoff between the Iron Regiment and the terrorist Joseph Dawn. The city is avoided by most travelers making their way through the plains, out of fear that the ruins are haunted by the former denizens of the town.

Highroost:
Highroost is an isolated Aarakocra settlement located somewhere in the Vaincrag Mountains. The vast majority of settlers in Chapel Valley have never visited Highroost, as the only way to reach Highroost is by air.

Idlehill:
Idelhill is a small settlement built on the Eastern side of the Hollow Hills. Idlehill is a hub community for farmers and settlers in the Eastern half of the Good Harvest Plains, and has the largest population of the Heralds of Luumis in all the settlements of Chapel Valley.

Lochport:
Lochport is a major port city built along the Shadowmountain Run river. It facilitates most of the river and ocean bound trade throughout Chapel Valley, and it also boasts the second largest naval shipyard in the Iron Dominion, second only to the Dominion's naval shipyard in the capital province of Midset Atoll.

Midriver:
Midriver is a major settlement located at the confluence of the Shadowmountain Run and Vaincrag Tributary rivers in the Southwestern quadrant of the Valley. The city has experienced immense growth in recent years from increased river trade and the booming mining industry along the Vaincrag Mountains.

Puerto Rojo:
Puerto Rojo, or the "Red Port", is a port city built near Los Guijarros , the river delta at the end of Shadowmountain Run. The settlement is built on the ruins of a settlement of the same name built by the now destroyed Kingdom of Salvone.

Rattlevale:
Rattlevale is a small settlement built in the Broken Brook Bog. It's location among the marshland has made it a popular destination for those escaping the law, as the Frontier Guard tends to avoid the bog.

Rich Banks:
Rich Banks is a major settlement built along the Northern half of Shadowmountain Run. Rich Banks is a popular vacation destination for the upper class of the Iron Dominion, and has earned the nickname "Port Sacrilege" for the debauchery, gambling, and corruption that is common place there.

Sanctuary:
Sanctuary is a very small settlement built in the center of the Great Dune Sea. It is built around a lone oasis in the center of the desert, and was founded by archeologists seeking to uncover Precursor ruins in the desert.

Settler's Point:
Settler's Point is a small port town built on the Northeastern corner of the Ironloch. Despite being nearly 50 miles away, Settler's Point is largely governed by the city of Beacon.

Sorewood:
Sorewood is a small settlement built on the Eastern edge of the Glassmere Thicket. It began as a small trading post along the Settler's Highway, but over time it has blossomed into a moderately sized community.

Starkwater Crossing:
Starkwater Crossing, initially just called "Starkwater", began as a major settlement along Shadowmountain Run, but since the founding of Midriver, Starkwater Crossing has been overshadowed by its sister city across the river. Today, Starkwater Crossing is little more than a residential area for Midriver.
