Koschevoy
Founded by the Tyrant of the Undead, Koschei, this kingdom stands to be the first nation in Tenebra free of the slavery of any sapient creature. This has garnered the wrath of the High Elves of Hyl'dora, the disgust of the fuhrer in Reich, and an unease with the recent monarchs of Ali Empire. What frightens and prevents them from conquering the Unconquerable Lion's lands are the massive armies of undead at Koschei's disposal, sapient and not sapient. Both are willing to die again and again in order to appease their dark lord of undeath. Yet, anti-slavery is not the only definable trait of Koschevoy but only a starting point.
The land where the sun rarely shines is populated by a majority of the undead and artificially made. Food is rarely produced from farmlands near the capital city of Gorod Mortvykh thanks to the extreme wrath of Koschei when he despoiled the lands nearly 2000 years ago. This has caused the mortal population that does inhabit Koschevoy to know great prosperity due to a need for crops to be produced in light-covered lands. Though the light and dark lands are populated by malignant vampires, who have fallen from their people's graces, they still must pay credence and respect to the Undying King and his eternal rule. A rule which is brutally enforced by both mortal and undead throughout the lands of Koschevoy.
Crime is punished to its extreme extent in Koschevoy. There are no prisons in the dim land of the undead. Instead, crime is punished quickly and gruesomely after evidence is brought to prove or disprove a crime within 33 hours. If the crime is proven, punishment can extend from humiliation and torture to a violent death that is carried out for more than a week. It is for this reason that crime is almost never pursued, even by the lowest of class individuals in the most squalid of living quarters. How this affects the top classed individuals, who are mainly liches, is the same. No bribe can extend to free an individual from punishment and the adamantine bootheel of the great servants of the Chainstealer stomps corruption.
Squalid life is also one of the highest in regard to a significant portion of the world as rarely do mortal or undead go starving in Koschevoy. The Executor of Tyrants has ensured that all must and will be employed by city leaders or punishment and a fine will be implemented on a city ruler within 33 hours. As to rural life, that is different but equal to the treatment of city leaders. Rural counties are entrusted to ensure the best life and employment opportunities for country folk so that they too can contribute capital for the economy of Koschevoy.
By no means is Koschevoy a solely "socialist" state but it does in fact draw its economic basis from magical exports, fuel for bombs and devices, and agricultural products in great amounts of trade to mainly the Ali Empire. This has extended to many others who would partake in the great magical wears from the place where magic is utilized the most in the world and have a taste of classical Koschevoyan vodka. All celebrate their great wealth and prosperity in Koschevoy, but all live in utter fear of the Great Tyrant of Koschevoy each of every day of their meager existences.
Not much would change with the advent of John Butcher became the Secretary General of Koschevoy as stability would continue onward as the years went on. John would be known as a celebrated leader after the ascension of the Masters of the Aether and would be their speaker on the Physical Plane.
Structure
Every title and office of leadership is elected by local individuals save for King Koschei's position, where his rule and reign are absolute. Koschei rules as an absolute monarch in his Court of Bones which is mainly assorted with undead and mortals alike. This court then makes legislation that is carried out by local officials at the county and then city-town leadership levels. Any and all who wish to exploit their position will be punished if caught by government officials.
Culture
Koschevoy is populated almost exclusively with worshippers of the Masters of the Aether and many ceremonies and festivals commemorate the Masters. Many of these customs revolve around the brewing of kavas and the distilling of vodka in great and plentiful amounts.
Public Agenda
The main agenda of a great many in Koschevoy is the accumulation of arcane knowledge for any and all citizens of Koschevoy. Many theories point to the fact of a great amount of aetherial energies always blowing through the area to make this goal a possibility for all in Koschevoy.
Assets
The main assets and targets of exportation are magical items, fuel, and agricultural crops. An even greater asset to Koschevoy is vodka that is exported around the world from Koschevoy.
Demography and Population
Many sapient individuals make their homes in the dark lands of Koschevoy, but countless more tens of millions are mindless undead that, mainly, serve the grounds of Koschevoy. The demographics of Koschevoy are as such:
