The Cycle

The Cycle is a religious ideology that includes the worship of Savras, God of Divination and Fate , Lathander, God of Birth, Youth, Vitality and Renewal and Kelemvor, God of Death . For the worshippers, the Cycle is everywhere and includes everyone. Lathander brings us into this world, and protects us. When we are ready to strike out on our own, Savras guides us through life. Ultimately, the path arrives at Kelemvor, who ushers us out of this world and into the next.

HISTORY

The worship of the three Cycle gods predates the The Terranian Awakening , albeit not in its current form. Many regional deities by other names and forms were worshipped by folks. The period after the Awakening saw a merging of many local pantheons into the current one that folks in Terrania believe in. The idea of the Cycle started to gain prominence in the 600s AC, specifically in the central Medialulem Sea region, with the heart of his philosophy centered in the Heleninum city of Knosis. From there, adherents to the idea spread along the trade routes, spreading their message. Lathander and Kelemvor were always prominent in figures in Terranian religion, so the philosophy made sense to alot of folks. By the 1400s AC, the Cycle (as it would become known as) grew to be the largest organized and centralized worship temple.

Structure and Goals

The Cycle doesn't necessarily have a central headquarters like many institutions have. Each Temple is almost entirely autonomous. Every 10 years the Cycle Temple at Knosis calls a diet which is held in various cities across the Terrania. In these large seminars, philosophy is discussed, and scripture tweaked or altered at the behest of contemporary ideas. Each Cycle Temple is not entirely separate from each of the Cycle gods institutions. The Fatedrivers still congregate in their mysterious rituals, The Soleilnee welcome all warmly to their halls, and the Death Couriers meticulous maintain their crypts in isolation, but volunteers and nominees are sent to the Cycle Temples to help support it. The Temples are not for the priests and clerics of each deity, but entirely for the regular folks who desire fellowship, guidance or blessings.
