Overgod, making the rest (his four companions) doing everything to stop him or fix what was broke. The
Titan Chronos needed four eras to return to create another
The Second Divergence. Many other situations were done in fours, even some great plays have four parts.
History
Rule of Four became a Divine Concept near the end of the
Third Age, Kingdoms as many masters of the arcane and science were able to find a repeating pattern of the number four, not only in the planes themselves but in many other aspects of mortality. Over time, the researchers believed it so much, they thought the idea in all universities around the world. The Rule of Four quickly became a Divine Theory and stayed as such.
