Lokanth awakens within the confines of Doctor Walmdas Kluw's office. Engaging in conversation, the doctor subtly hints at the potential suspicion cast upon Lokanth for the ongoing murders within The Radana Storme Institute. This insinuation sparks fear within Lokanth, as he begins to suspect that Doctor Walmdas might be trying to frame him for the gruesome crimes. Moreover, the doctor implies his knowledge of the relationship between Lokanth and his brother Ajax.
After the unsettling encounter with Doctor Walmdas, Lokanth departs the office and returns to his cabin. There, he discovers a letter sent to him by Sister Prudence. The letter prompts him to consider visiting her the following day. With that in mind, he decides to retire for the night, seeking rest.
However, the night brings with it disturbing dreams that plague Lokanth's sleep. In his dreams, he is repeatedly assaulted by various denizens of The Radana Storme Institute, each time being stabbed mercilessly. As the nightmarish scene unfolds, Lokanth manages to wrest a dagger from one of his assailants, countering with a sudden attack that results in his brother Ajax being fatally impaled. This harrowing vision jolts Lokanth awake, drenched in a cold sweat, grappling with the unsettling aftermath of his dream.

The following day, Lokanth pays a visit to the chapel to meet with Sister Prudence. Unbeknownst to them, Russell Tideborn and Doctor Ada Arztin observe the meeting from the shadows, stealthily eavesdropping on their conversation. During their encounter, Lokanth and Sister Prudence discuss their shared suspicions and acknowledge Lenni's desire to communicate with Lokanth in privacy. They collaborate on a plan and arrange to rendezvous once more at sunset.
Upon leaving the chapel, Lokanth crosses paths with Russell Tideborn. During their exchange, Russell reluctantly confesses that his book contains an excerpt detailing the murder of a vampire named Radko, potentially linked to the ongoing killings. This revelation fuels Lokanth's growing suspicion of Russell's involvement in the string of murders.
Simultaneously, across the asylum's grounds, an investigation is underway at The Radana Storme Institute. Intrigued by the developments, Lokanth undertakes his own inquiries, discovering that Ajax has vanished. Meanwhile, guards scour the psychiatric building for any clues. Amidst these activities, Russell Tideborn positions himself concealed within the washroom of the maximum security cell block.
As night falls, Lokanth returns to the Penitentiary, sneaking into the chapel. Collaborating with Sister Prudence, they devise a strategy: she will create a diversion while Lokanth transforms into a spider, enabling him to slip beneath the cell door. Safely within Lenni's cell, they engage in conversation. Lenni subtly suggests a connection between the murders and Doctor Walmdas's arrival at the asylum, hinting at his willingness to provide further assistance in exchange for Lokanth aiding in freeing him and his fellow natives.
