The Last Storme

Plot points/Scenes

19th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   The party receives information about recent activities at The Radana Storme Institute. Doctor Walmdas Kluw has been replacing the asylum's faculty and implementing strict rules, making the Mansion and Botanical Gardens off-limits without his permission. There have been mysterious murders at the institute. The crowd gathers to pay respects to the late Doctor Jalejna, with Doctor Walmdas leading the eulogy. Ajax Wursor experiences a troubling night in his cell.   20th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   The next day, the party witnesses Ajax's changed behavior during breakfast, and Russell Tideborn manipulates his mind, leading to a chaotic fight. Guards intervene, taking the unconscious inmates to the infirmary. Lokanth disguises himself as a guard to calm Ajax. Later, a shocking discovery is made when guards find Reko hanging in his cell.   Chaos erupts in the Lower-South Wing as the lifeless body of Reko is discovered hanging in his cell. Guards forcefully corral the inmates back to their cells, including Dolores Simm and Ajax Wursor. Russell Tideborn, present at the scene, refuses to move the body and insists that it be taken to the Infirmary instead.   Meanwhile, unaware of the recent events, Lokanth Wursor uses a leaf he planted on Ajax during the violent mess hall incident to sense his direction magically. Transforming into a spider, he sneaks into Ajax's cell, witnessing his agitated state. As Ajax throws furniture around, Lokanth tries to remain unnoticed.   Russell visits Ajax's cell and manipulates his mind during a moment of confusion. This causes Ajax to lash out and partially transform into a Lycanthrope. Russell's attempt to free himself accidentally hits Lokanth, revealing his presence. Ajax, now aggressive, attacks his own brother, leading to their separation by guards.   Sister Prudence arrives at the scene, trying to calm the inmates. She learns about Reko's tribal tattoos and a symbol carved in the washroom, hinting at native Zmumadian tribes' involvement. Interrupting the chaos between Russell, Ajax, and Lokanth, she magically blinds them.   With guards separating the brothers and Russell and Sister Prudence investigating further, they discover a connection between the Zmumadian symbol and Reko's Marnolian tribe. An inmate reveals that the symbol refers to "graves" or funeral rites.   Elsewhere, Lokanth and Ajax suffer brutality from the guards, and their investigation leads them to Doctor Wiliam Wosow and Doctor Walmdas Kluw. At the Infirmary, they find a dead guard and six inmates with similar neck wounds.   The infirmary is thrown into turmoil when Russell Tideborn and Sister Prudence discover seven dead bodies, including a guard and six inmates. Sister Prudence examines the bodies and finds a symbol marked on three inmates' arms, hinting at Zmumadian tribal involvement. Guards and Doctor Ada Arztin arrive at the scene, and all three are questioned about the murders. Russell is taken to a maximum security cell for further interrogation.   Ajax Wursor wakes up in a padded room and encounters Doctor Wiliam Wosow, who promises to treat him and ease his pain. Meanwhile, Russell is imprisoned in the Wild Magic Cells, while Sister Prudence is placed in a cell adjacent to Sir Bellinor, a former inmate.   Sir Bellinor warns Sister Prudence about impending violence and shares details about the symbol, suggesting it's a call for help in his tribe's language. Sister Prudence returns to her cell to ponder its meaning.   The guards execute tribal inmates due to the tribal symbols found on some victims. Russell observes from the bell tower and vows retribution against the creature that attacked him.   Captain Myron is convinced to stop the execution of the Zmumadian tribal inmates, thanks to Doctor Ada Arztin's plea. She suggests confining them to a heavily guarded cell block, and if the murders continue, the tribals would be absolved of guilt. Captain Myron warns the inmates about the consequences and demands an end to the murders.   Doctor Ada Arztin resumes her duties in the Psychiatric Building, while Ajax Wursor is taken back to his cell. Sister Prudence tries to speak with the elderly tribal inmate, Lenni, but he implies that he won't speak clearly in the presence of guards.   Sister Prudence goes to her chapel and prays to Dalli. She hears a voice praising her kindness and loyalty, which leaves her shaken. Unbeknownst to her, the voice is actually Russell Tideborn's magic.   21st Skrabarjeń 269 5E   The next day, Ajax Wursor wakes up to find a steak left for him on a silver platter. He quickly consumes it. Doctor Ada Arztin finds a dead orderly in her office, and upon reporting the incident, she is instructed to summon the Guard by Doctor Walmdas Kluw.   Sister Prudence takes advantage of the guards vacating the building and turns herself invisible to interrogate Lenni in the upper-north cellblock. Lenni reveals that the symbol on the dead inmates' bodies is a cry for help and that Russell Tideborn is descended from the Zmumadian tribes, raised as a member of the Chernikin. He asks for a meeting with Lokanth Wursor, promising to share more information afterward.   Meanwhile, Russell Tideborn accompanies the Guard to Doctor Ada Arztin's office and finds the orderly dead with signs of strangulation and files missing. He starts cleaning the office while Sister Prudence, invisible, steals Russell's book, which contains gruesome crime descriptions with sixteen blank pages at the end.   Sister Prudence tries to return the book unnoticed but is caught by Russell Tideborn. They argue, expressing their suspicions of each other as potential murderers.   Doctor Walmdas interrupts their argument and instructs them on their tasks. He asks Doctor Ada Arztin her opinion of Captain Myron and orders her to arrange a meeting with him in the Storage Room later that evening.   Lokanth wakes up in Doctor Walmdas Kluw's office, who implies that Lokanth might be suspected of the ongoing murders at The Radana Storme Institute. Lokanth fears he might be blamed, especially when the doctor mentions his knowledge of Ajax being Lokanth's brother. After leaving the office, Lokanth finds a letter from Sister Prudence, arranging to meet her the next day, and goes to sleep. That night, he has disturbing dreams of being attacked by the institute's residents and accidentally impaling Ajax.   During the day, Russell Tideborn uses an augury spell to communicate with his patron but receives an unclear response.   In the evening, Doctor Ada informs Captain Myron about the meeting with Doctor Walmdas, and they both head to the storage room. Once there, Captain Myron encounters Ajax Wursor, who emerges in Lycanthropic form.   Ajax Wursor attacks Captain Myron. The fight is deadly, and Ajax kills Captain Myron. Doctor Wiliam Wosow praises Ajax's actions, promises him a chance at freedom, and takes him to the Storme Manor for treatment and comfort.   22nd Skrabarjeń 269 5E   Lokanth visits the chapel to meet Sister Prudence, unknowingly observed by Russell Tideborn and Doctor Ada Arztin, who eavesdrop on their conversation. They discuss their suspicions and arrange to meet Lenni at sunset for an undisturbed conversation. After the meeting, Lokanth talks to Russell, who admits his book contains an extract about a vampire named Radko, linked to the murders, further raising Lokanth's suspicions.   Ajax wakes up and is offered amenities, with the condition that he attends dinner with Warden Petro Storme and Doctor Walmdas without weapons or armor. At the dinner, Ajax learns that the Warden's death will mark the end of the House of Storme and the Institute's fall, leading to everyone's eventual freedom. Doctor Walmdas tells Ajax that three individuals are involved in the murders, with Russell Tideborn being one of them. Ajax agrees to help find and kill the remaining two in exchange for freedom, new armor, and weapons.   A search begins at The Radana Storme Institute, and Ajax goes missing. Russell hides in the maximum security cell block's washroom. That night, Lokanth returns to the Penitentiary and, with Sister Prudence's help, devises a plan to distract while he turns into a spider and sneaks into Lenni's cell. Lenni hints that the murders started when Doctor Walmdas arrived, promising more help if Lokanth aids him and his fellow natives' freedom.   Lokanth Wursor decides to wait in Lenni's cell to replenish his magic before attempting to escape the maximum security cell block. A mysterious individual appears at the door and a bright light and explosion kill Lenni. Russell Tideborn tries to pursue the culprit but is compelled to stop by magic. Guards rush to the cell and seal off the cell block, and Lokanth transforms into a spider to escape. Sister Prudence investigates and follows the hooded individual, only to be mistaken for the culprit by guards and beaten unconscious. Russell hides in a janitor's room while Lokanth returns to his cabin, where the Groundskeeper waits outside.   23rd Skrabarjeń 269 5E   Lokanth Wursor stays awake, haunted by visions of his brother's murder, and fearing the Groundskeeper that waits outside of his door.   Russell Tideborn wakes up in a room that is not his own, feeling uncomfortable after a sexual encounter with an orderly. He starts devising schemes and notices Dolores Simm, an inmate from a previous skirmish. Doctor Ada is approached by Dolores and confirms their session. The Medical building is flooded with guards and orderlies, preventing staff access. Russell tells Lokanth Wursor about the events of last night and proposes escaping together, but Lokanth wants to rescue his brother first. A group of weak inmates captures Sister Ada and takes her to Doctor Walmdas Kluw's office. Lokanth transforms into a spider and eavesdrops on Doctor Walmdas Kluw's conversation with Sister Prudence.   Under questioning, the Doctor reveals the history of The Radana Storme Institute and his research on mind alteration. He admits to three subjects, and Sister Prudence questions him about them. He drugs her and returns her to her cell. Russell visits Dolores to persuade her to join his plan, but she refuses and mysteriously leaves her cell. She confronts Doctor Ada, and they engage in a fight. Doctor Ada kills Dolores and then speaks with Doctor Walmdas. Lokanth overhears their conversation, discovering that Doctor Ada Arztin is the killer.   Meanwhile, Russell attempts to commune with his God for guidance. He sees visions that lead him to believe he still has unfinished work to do.   Doctor Wiliam equips Ajax with enchanted armor and sends him to hunt down Russell. Ajax encounters Russell in the courtyard, and Lokanth emerges as well. Ajax charges at Russell, who retreats up the Penitentiary walls. Sister Prudence is released from her Anti-Magic Cell and overhears a cult sermon in the Lower-North Cell Block, discovering the truth behind the murders. She convinces Sir Bellinor to help her eliminate Doctor Walmdas Kluw.   As the group goes outside, Lokanth attempts to restrain Ajax, but he escapes and battles guards. Ajax is overwhelmed and falls unconscious. Lokanth defends his brother but is eventually defeated. Russell manipulates Sir Bellinor's mind, leading to Ajax's death but sparing Lokanth.   24th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   Lokanth witnesses Sir Bellinor killing his brother and is filled with rage. He starts to produce poison in the Botanical Gardens, where Nadia Storme joins him on his quest for revenge. Russell escapes The Radana Storme Institute by turning invisible and swimming upriver.   Sister Prudence discovers Doctor Ada's dark research and confronts her. Doctor Ada confesses to her role in the murders and her mind's manipulation. Sister Prudence decides to break the mirror to free Ada from the enchantment.   Meanwhile, Doctor Ada kills two patients with a deadly poison. Lokanth and Nadia confront Sir Bellinor, who dies from vampiric puncture wounds. Doctor Walmdas admits his experiment's failure and battles Lokanth, revealing vampiric traits. He blinds Lokanth, but Nadia intervenes.   Russell escapes the Groundskeeper and hears an explosion from the penitentiary. Sister Prudence confronts Doctor Ada about her intentional murders, and Ada reveals the truth about the mirror. Sister Prudence binds Ada, takes poison and a knife, and sets out to confront Doctor Walmdas.   In the library of Storme Manor, a brutal fight ensues between Doctor Walmdas and Nadia. Sister Prudence arrives, pretending to be interested in Walmdas's research. She tricks him into biting her with his vampiric fangs, and he succumbs to her poisoned blood. Ada witnesses his disappearance into the shadows. Sister Prudence collapses, poisoned and losing blood.   The Days Beyond   Doctor Ada and Lokanth destroy the enchanted mirror, seemingly lifting Doctor Ada's curse. The Konstat arrive to find The Radana Storme Institute in ruins. The Wild Magic Cells' explosion in the penitentiary kills many patients and faculty. The psychiatric building is also destroyed, and survivors are taken care of by the Konstat and the Temple.   Russell Tideborn's fate remains unknown, but rumors circulate about a cult led by a fish person in the forests of Lower Mastoria.   Sister Prudence is laid to rest in the Temple of the Seventh Acolyte. After seven days and nights, she awakens to find Wlad Mulkwast and his daughter Walerija Mulkwast standing over her.   Doctor Ada's curse returns, and she continues her killing spree. Lokanth seeks solitude in a grotto but eventually succumbs to violent compulsions, beginning his own killing spree as Subject Three.
