Northern Knurden
"Little is known about the lands beyond the Peaks of Hammarkin. The lands are harsh and frozen, mostly abandoned safe for a small number of fishing villages and old castles. It is said that here lies the origin on the giants and white dragons.
Knurden is known as a cold and harsh land. The Knurds themselves have adapted, but even they don't often face the cold of the lands beyond the Peaks of Hammarkin. It is a frozen land that is only populated by scattered, isolated fishing villages and trading outposts. These communities manage to get by, but know very well not to stray too far from the coast. It is easy to get lost in the forests and mountains and when you do, you won't last long in the cold.
Old stories tell of the ancient Giants, the first race of giants, that lived in these lands once. These ancient creatures were the ancestors of the giants that live in the world of today. They stood hundreds of feet tall, but were wiped out when they angered the mountain spirits. Scholars and researchers still debate over whether or not these giants existed, but those who have travelled these lands swear upon their grave that they have seen the remnants of these creatures. Larger than life skeletons on the mountain sides, and frozen hands below the ice over unknowable depths are reported by those who have ventured into this northern waste land and lived.
This ancient race has given birth to today's giants, which are found all throughout the world. But here, in the place of their origin, they are still the most numerous. They make their home deep in the mountains and still consider these lands to be theirs. Anyone who enters in an intruder."
