Acolyte
The rank of Acolyte is the lowest official rank within Ione and the Order of Fortunism, denoting that the individual has passed the Trials of the Fortunate successfully. Obtaining the rank of Acolyte allows individuals to attain higher ranks through Cionecic's Divine Selection and be given the rank of Elder upon their retirement, though neither are guaranteed or necessary.
Qualifications
All holders of Ionean government positions or roles within the Order of Fortunism are required to pass the Trials of the Fortunate before assuming any official positions, of which Acolyte is the lowest.
Requirements
An Alarch must possess a Mark of Fortune to hold any level of office within the Ionean government as the Mark of Fortune is required to take place in the Trials of the Fortunate.
Appointment
The appointment from Initiate to Acolyte is done through the successful completion of the Trials of the Fortunate. As soon as an individual exits Sanctum Forest after having spent the entirety of the month of Tehan as required by the Trials they are considered an Acolyte.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of an Acolyte can vary wildly depending on their background of skills and how long they've held the title. Leading small municipal or provincial functions or directly supporting higher ranks in their day-to-day are common responsibilities of Acolytes.
Benefits
Being officially accepted into the Order of Fortunism confers some benefits such as access to certain books, tools, and materials of higher value that are not available to the general population. Depending on the area in which the Acolyte is working some knowledge of a skill or trade may be passed on, though not all Acolytes recieve the same level of knowledge or training.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
The rank of Acolyte cannot be removed from an individual, though they may opt to retire to the ceremonial rank of Elder.
