It's not as good as it sounds... - Highland mogul
Named for both its geographical and social positioning on Flux, the Highlands are a virtual paradise for those with power. This land is often used to epitomize wealth in various common sayings, most of which disparage the natural drive for monetary gain. Although, the aforementioned epithets would be more accurately described as propaganda meant to keep the Lower Lands satisfied with their current position than offer wisdom.
Geography
The Highlands cradle the High Ocean, which houses many ports and supermarkets that are frequented by the nearby moguls. It is spotted with beautiful natural and artificial landmarks (not to mention the self-righteous populous) that would make the heavens themselves seem inadequate. The coin-sun's warmth is spread more evenly across this land, which creates a couple of seasons that texture the year.
The most coveted land is that which is furthest from the sun, making the gradient of colorful people and buildings trend thicker towards the outermost regions. However, the cost for a home anywhere in the Highlands runs very high, leading some corrupt public figures to propagate the masses in an attempt to weaken the competition and lower the estate costs.

Fauna & Flora
Wildlife reserves are sparse, but the amount of decorative growth thrives due to the fantastic care given to them by various gardeners. Several organizations were forced to relocate most of the native animals that once roamed this area soon after a Highland monarch outlawed anyone from hunting endangered species. However, this came at the cost of nearly every hunter in the area, partly due to the fact that all creatures are endangered, but mostly because it's because they make just as much through stories as they do furs.
In this land, it's survival of the fanciest and nature is no exception. Fortunately, most plants have little chance of cross-breeding (though, there is one tale called "The Moss-Tree and the Wolf-Melon"... but I digress), so uniformity is achieved in most areas. Most ugly or carnivorous plants were drowned in the High Ocean or sold to collectors at a high price.
Natural Resources
Gold, jewels, and many, many manufactured goods come to this land. Some notable products include, "Planar Paper", "Choker's Vine Relaxant", and a famous anti-inflammatory medicine called "Roxy's People-Coolant" are found everywhere. Unfortunately, that last one only works on beings with pointed ears for some reason. Others may find themselves naked in the Lowland forests one night with very little memory of who they are. Iron is likely the most abundant natural resource exported from the Highlands, but this is more because it is unpleasant to look at than to make money.
