Inebi Treaty (Inn-EBB-ee)

The Inebi Treaty was the emergency measure taken to cease hostilities of the War of the Six when it became apparent that both ongoing battle and dealing with the relentless Plague of the Bitter Hand were impossible to deal with simultaneously.   Of the leadership of both sides, only Jonna Biqare, Nettherrose Altith, Xocis Bu'ran, and Shedrogard Affenblau on the side of the Pact were alive to sign. Only Scedal Basania on the side of the Accord was alive, but he refused to sign and instead, lower leadership were the ones to step forward, namely Vasaeon Hejiq, Daernhuldyr Brokka, and Ghutatru Hea.   The formal Inebi Armistice followed three days later and was not wholly different from the Treaty, with the explicit exception of the inclusion of the Banishing.

Purpose

Emergency ceasing of hostilities due to the release of the Plague of the Bitter Hand, in lieu of a formal armistice.

Historical Details

Background

The Bitter Hand was released on the 33rd Day of the Season of Ripening, 989AC -- following a week of unprecedented chaos and casualties with no sign of relief, dealing with the mutual humanitarian crisis was determined to be the greater priority. It was drawn up and signed in a single day, and named for the Grove that acted as the epicenter of the plague's release.   One of the primary authors was Folred Petris, the de-facto Hand of the Earthborn Star.

Public Reaction

Due to the chaos already occurring, though the Treaty and Armistice were welcomed by the public and both sides of the conflict, it took some time for the news of the ceasefire to reach all theaters and even afterward, panic-skirmishes still took place.

Legacy

The formal Inebi Armistice was signed three days later.

Term

It held for a week until the formal Inebi Armistice was able to be signed.
