House Hugh (the new hughs)
The family with a name from history have risen to be Lords of Talffolk. The Hughs are the most influential and wealthiest of the Great Houses not name Kendrick. Their proximity to the capital, their grains and textiles have always been in demand both in the UMI and over the seas.
There is no one who claims to know for sure the former name of the immigrated family that became the "New Hughs", but there are rumors of an origination from Baldur's Gate.
Lording over Alaron's most fertile lands, House Hugh was well known to be farmers and leatherworkers of great skill before their ascension. Their lands provide near all of the agricultural goods that see oversees markets and most of the domestic use as well. It has oft been said that there is enough fertility in the soils of Talffolk that all of the Sword Coast could be fed from her bossom.
The events behind how the Hughs became Lords are hazy but they emerged as the strongest suitors after Lord Atwyn was convicted of Treason. The bringing of the end of House Atwyn, was a rare opportunity...something House Hugh has never been known NOT to exploit.
