Xalo Xido Settlement in The Kingdom Era | World Anvil

Xalo Xido

Xalo Xido is a ruined city in The Reelonain Constellation. It is a long-dead city of wonderment, and was once the capital of a great empire called the Zaldious Sphere. It was destroyed by a said to be ruinous event long before the Era of Kingdoms. House Rahaleos claim that they are ancestors of those who ruled the Zaldious Sphere. Xalo Xido is apparently located in the furthest corner of the continent by the dangerous sea. The city surrounds a large mountain in which a keep is believed to be located upon. The vast ruins surround the mountain, built upon lands filled with hills and ravines. Many buildings were said to have open spaces atop, used for entertainment, resting among other potential purposes. Throughout Xalo Xido is a great web of roads, these roads were of monstrous size and ensured that travellers and citizens could travel across the great kingdom with little to no trouble. Old writings tell that the Zaldious Sphere was one of the earliest after The Great Two Empires where literacy arose. It is one of the oldest civilizations with recorded scrolls in a readable language, a Xalo scroll is one of the most precious items an advisor can get their hands on.   In Oghma's Hall, a singular room is guarded by some of the most skilled mercenaries in The Isles of Isaiath. This room contains a small amount of Xalo scrolls, rumoured to be as little as four. The room is only accessible by a select number of nobles including Iyanna Gaulden, Saenella Rahaleos, Daemon Rahaleos, Julian Titus, Marcin Dane, Daharius Vanguard, Royce Adve, Asora-Ahi Marnei and Arthur Adve. Those who enter the room take a vow to their gods that the knowledge from the scrolls they read will never be passed on to someone not gifted access to the room. However Akis Tides claimed that he had infiltrated the premises and gazed eyes upon the ancient text, many say his travels are influenced with his obsession to find out what event caused the destruction of the Zaldious Sphere.   Not many have sailed out with the goal of exploring Xalo Xido, it is well known among travellers that the ancient ruins are said to be filled with danger and despair. Skin of the old residents that lurk under the bricks and slither across the pavements boneless, organ less and emotionless, supposedly protecting their once great home with the task scaring away any daring adventurers or treasure hunters.
