Cinder
The daughter of one of the first dragons of Loredas, her kind ruled the skies of what would become the Randgriz Empire until the people revolted. Her and Myzilith entered into exile together becoming close friends as they looked for a new home. While they bonded over a shared interest in mortals, they differed in what that interest meant. Myzilith wished to have mortals bask in her majesty, the younger dragon wanted to understand them. As their interests differed, they parted ways as friends on split paths.
She started to look into ways to integrate into human society and started developing ways to hold her transformed form for longer and longer until she discovered a way to hold it indefinitely. Eventually reconnecting with Myzilith after she had a change of heart about her believed place over humanity she still did not tell her oldest friend when she met the (unbeknownst to her) time-traveling Jakki and bore his son in 184, as she didn't know how she would react to such a close relationship with a human. When Jakki went back to the future not realizing that he left a draconic son behind she ended up seeking out a dragon mate again.
In 218 she laid the egg that would hatch into Flare, but was soon chased by dragon hunters. Thinking it would be a simple magical process to stop them in time to make her escape, the latent chronomagical energy left from her time with Jakki and a mistake in casting the spell sent her careening through time and space to Iocrias in the year 118, meaning she was actually another 100 years older by the date of her death. This left her daughter's egg to be watched by her friend Myzilith who judged Gallese to be an acceptable father for her out of respect for her friend's trust in humans.
Seeing this as a new start she chose to live in Iocrias as a human and used her extensive magical power to help her new fellow mortals, most notably becoming one of the 12 Heroes of Cidash when she assisted in defending the city from the horde of Proto-Terrasques, being gifted the Holy Mythril Blade Scarlet for her efforts during the conflict.
Moving on to continue exploring the world as a hero she had to change her name several times, hiding the power of her blade and status as a hero to avoid detection. She eventually settled in the northern wastes of Iocrias where it was easier to live off the grid and had a son with a Skel man in 198.
Her and her son were close and when it came time for him to find a spirit animal in accordance with Skel tradition, he found himself distant from his peers as no animal called out to him. Cinder made the decision to be honest about his draconic blood, allowing him to connect to his dragon form as his skel spirit animal. Rumors of a dragon to the north, however, brought hunters to their village. To protect her son, she left him her old sword and transformed into a dragon to lead the hunters away. They would spend the next year tracking and eventually killing her. Her soul then returned to the sword where it continued watching over her children.
