The Sons

The Sons are a type of being depicted in the carvings covering the Gatefall Obelisk. They comprise six distinct individuals, all male, each of whom appears in multiple scenes throughout the carvings. The being known as Shamsiel, who is venerated by the Disciples of the Sixfold Seal, is believed to be one of their number.

The name "Sons" is derived from Ivellios Ozdemir's magically-aided translation of the Obelisk's written inscriptions. They are shown to be generally humanoid, but are much larger than Humans and bear two sets of feathered wings on their backs. Like Anakites, they have six fingers on each hand and prominent horns on their foreheads.

It is unclear whether the Sons are mythological beings or if they actually existed at some point in The New World's history. Some have speculated that they are Deities or angels, as the Obelisk carvings generally show them bestowing knowledge to lesser creatures, defeating foes in battle, or receiving Human and animal sacrifices.
