Knights of the Temporal Order
Tengen the Immortal is the leader of the Knights of the Temporal Order, or KOTTO, a group of monks trained in martial and magic arts at the Monastery of Time located at the peak of the Silveridge. Their mission is to keep the streets of Sorus clean of criminals and corrupt leaders. Once their intensive training is complete, KOTTO members are sent out on assignments to infiltrate and take down criminal syndicates or specific targets. Though they primarily operate on official missions, KOTTO does allow its members to act individually, though this is still technically illegal.
As a vigilante group, KOTTO's services are typically hired by government leaders or the rich and powerful. However, those who seek KOTTO's services are taking a high risk, as they are essentially hiring a band of assassins. The key difference between KOTTO and traditional assassins is that Tengen only accepts jobs that he deems ethical. If the world would be better off without the target, KOTTO is bound to accept, but if not, they will break the contract.
Discretion is crucial for KOTTO members, as a client who is revealed to have hired a band of vigilante assassins is a client that does not pay. To gain information about difficult-to-infiltrate crime syndicates, KOTTO employs a group of infiltrators known as The Inhabitants. Each KOTTO member typically has an Inhabitant liaison in every major city who can be called upon for extra help in a mission. The Inhabitants are not involved in killing targets but specialize in expert reconnaissance and infiltration work.
KOTTO typically only relies on the Inhabitants for difficult jobs, and they split the contract payment 50/50. Despite the risks and low financial gain, KOTTO members remain committed to their mission of upholding justice and protecting the innocent.
