Layer 1 - Plain of Infinite Portals

The Plain of Infinite Portals is a vast, desolate realm ruled by Demon Lord Pazuzu. It is a land of rocky, windswept barrens, dotted with pits and canyons, tors and mesas. The layer is lit by an ancient red sun, casting an eerie glow over the iron fortresses that dot the landscape.

Pazuzu's realm is known for its intricate network of portals that allow for easy travel between different planes of existence. These portals are coveted by adventurers, scholars, and demons alike, as they offer a means of accessing powerful artifacts and ancient knowledge.

The layer's iron fortresses are home to Pazuzu's loyal followers, including powerful demon nobles and fearsome warriors who are tasked with defending the key portal locations from intruders and devils alikes. Some fortresses contain portals that lead directly to other demon lords, as such, their own followers and armies are also deployed to this layer.

The Plain of Infinite Portals is a battleground for the eternal Blood War between the demons and devils. Both sides constantly seek to gain the upper hand by establishing strongholds and outposts in the region, and engage in fierce battles over strategic locations. The demon lord Pazuzu commands his legions here, launching relentless attacks on the fiendish armies of The Nine Hells. Despite the infernal forces' superior discipline and tactics, the sheer numbers of the demon hordes make this conflict an endless, bloody stalemate, with neither side able to claim a decisive victory.
