Gabriel Goldfinch
Regent Gabriel Goldfinch
Gabriel Goldfinch is the current Regent of Salt Lake, ruling in the stead of his cousin, Baroness Mariana Goldfinch
Two years later, in 1490, Gabriel and Mariana attempted to force the end of the drought by confronting Akadi’s Wrath. Gabriel was ultimately crippled in one leg and Mariana suffered horrific lightning scars across her chest. Mariana was then sent to Gregory Tumbleton University, separating the two cousins. After Mariana's departure, Gabriel gave up his dreams of being a knight and took to bookkeeping for his uncle. In late Hammer of 1492, the Plowshare Militia, angered over the Goldfinch's treatment of their farmers, rose up and confined the Goldfinch's to their manor. However, they soon recognized that the noble's of Amphail would not recognize many of the grievances aired by peasantry, and thus the militia's leader, Harvest, allowed Gabriel to roam Salt Lake with an escort and to speak with Amphail's leaders. One of the guards assigned to Gabriel was Isaac Kotter, and the two of them grew close during the Siege of Salt Lake. Near the end of the Siege of Salt Lake, the Breadwinners, including Mariana Goldfinch, arrived in Salt Lake to help mediate an end to the conflict. With Gabriel's assistance, they uncovered the Eye of Akadi Artus had stolen and returned it to the Temple of Akadi. During the siege's peace talks, Gabe attempted to get Mariana to leave in case the talks ended in a blood bath. She refused, and the Breadwinners eventually managed to end the conflict. Afterwards, Gabriel had a falling out with Isaac over the nobility's return to Salt Lake, and Mariana appointed Gabriel as her regent, a position he hold to this day. Gabriel and Isaac eventually made up their differences, and the two of them married in 1494.
