Mr. Dory

Mr. Dory is current member of the Seaton Committee and a former member of S'gothgah's Cult of Bane. Due to his association with the aboleth S'gothgah, Mr. Dory's body has been significantly transformed to something resembling a human-skum hybrid.

History

Despite the poverty, crime and decay of the Styes, Mr. Dory managed to rise from a simple gang leader to the wealthiest warehouse owner in the city, gaining a seat on the Seaton Committee to gain the thin veneer of respectability. During this time, Mr. Dory established his base of operations as a warehouse overlooking one of the city's canals in the Alchemists' Quarter
In 1494, Mr. Dory sent two of his agents, Ventha and Shoestring, to the birthday party of the alchemist Nihan Li in his stead. While there, the two agents became embroiled in a murder plot led by Pathos Gloombright, who had been empowered by the aboleth S'gothgah. S'gothgah had recently arrived in the Styes, seeking to use the misery and fear of the area to empower the Feast of Corruption, a forbidden ritual that would speed the maturation of a young kraken to form it into an Avatar of Bane.
S'gothgah's interest turned to Mr. Dory following the death of Gloombright, and by 1496 Mr. Dory was the foremost agent of S'gothgah's Cult of Bane in the Styes. However, Dory was not inflicted with a Banesmark, as he had seen the power the aboleth possessed and hedged his bets with, who he saw, as the winning team. Dory's agents were dispatched often to protect S'gothgah's base, the Seaton Temple of Bane, and his forces often worked to spread fear amongst the Styes' populace. Dory himself was also empowered by the aboleth, though the process of doing so gave him a horrifying visage, and Dory grew more reclusive as a result.
In late Nightal of 1496, the Heroes of Saltmarsh arrived in the Styes to find and stop S'gothgah. After investigating the Lantern Ghost Killer, the Heroes then infiltrated Dory's warehouse, fighting Dory until he begged for mercy in exchange for information. Dory told the Heroes about the location of the temple of Bane, and the Heroes begrudgingly let Dory live.
Though scarred from his time assisting the Cult of Bane, Mr. Dory still retains his power and influence over the Styes.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Due to his empowerment by the aboleth S'gothgah, Mr. Dory has access to dark magic and supernatural strength. However, the process by which that powe was bestowed has warped Dory's appearence, causing his skin to seemingly slough off and requiring him to remain in humid environments to keep his skin moistureized.
