The Unstompables
The Unstompables were the short-lived, four-person adventuring party responsible for eradicating the Curse of Clearhallow in 1498.
While word of the Unstompables deeds are only known orally, the day-to-day events of their adventures were recorded in the Journal of Callum Nailsmith
Structure
There was no designated leader amongst the Unstompables four members, with the group instead uniting under the shared desire to end the Curse of Clearhallow.
The four members of the party were:
History
On the 3rd of Ches, 1498, Callum Nailsmith, Robyn Goodfellow, and Ravs Cullger arrived in Clearhallow in order to end the town's curse. Callum and Robyn were motivated by finding Callum's missing wife, Lenore Marsk, and her adventuring company, while Ravs was in pursuit of his missing sister.
Upon arriving into town, the group met Lemmikki Karkkonen, a young girl who was magically bound to the town as a result of the curse. Lacking a local guide, and general manpower, Lemmikki was folded into the group.
After taking a few days to get their bearings, the group first investigated a nearby dwarven fortress that was occupied by orcs, duergar, ghosts, and a black dragon. While nothing concrete was found, the investigation did clue the party into the actions of the Minor Inconviences, a group of young locals that were active in trying to fix the curse 15 years ago before nearly all went missing.
The Unstompables, who had named themselves after cockroaches following their desperate fight with the black dragon, then started pursuing rumors of a cult operating in town, while helping out the nearby town of Easthorn eradicate a tower of undead.
After investigating the cursed temple of Tymora and the people in town by hosting a birthday party for Robyn, the party discovered that the town's leadership was entirely dominated by the Cult of Cyric. Following an interrogation of the town's sheriff, Rudi Pyrecrag, the Unstompables learned that the curse was the result of a giant magical crystal that had been touched by the god Cyric. Anyone who touched the crystal was forcibly joined to the Cult of Cyric, although the more in-line they were with Cyric's beliefs, the more of their mental faculties they retained.
Horrified, but knowing what needed to be done, the Unstompables discretely shipped sheriff Rudi downriver to buy time while they infiltrated the temple housing the crystal. After a grueling dungeoncrawl, including a fight with Callum's wife and her adventuring party and evil shades possessing statues, the party managed to destroy the cursed crystal, ending Cyric's reign over the town.
Disbandment
Following the destruction of the crystal on the 15th of Ches, the Unstompables dissolved after only a half a month of working together. Callum and Robyn returned home to Neverwinter, taking Lemmikki with them to help show her the world, while Ravs stayed in Clearhallow to begin building a waterpark that he would soon abandon without a word.
Though the deeds of the Unstompables would not become well-known in most of Faerun, the citizens of Clearhallow would remember them for years to come as the heroes who finally freed their town.
