Captain America's Shield

A shield carried by Captain America, which has become an important symbol of American identity and morality.

The first shield was a stage prop, used by Steve Rogers was part of his USO show during World War II. This was later replaced with a circular Vibranium shield, created by Howard Stark, once Steve entered active duty.

After Steve's apparent death during the war, Howard succeeded in locating the shield (although not Steve himself), and kept it in storage. At some point it was moved from Howard's home to Pinnacle House.

When Steve was located and revived, the shield was returned to him by Tony Stark.

During the battle against Hela's Worthy, the shield was broken by Hulk. The broken shield was replaced with an Uru shield created by Tony Stark and the Dwarves. When the other Dwarven Weapons were returned to King Eitri, Steve kept the uru shield as a permanent replacement.

After Steve's disappearance, the shield was passed to Sam Wilson along with the title of Captain America.
